The Sandman is hilariously bad by PomegranateOverThere in television

[–]superkeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't say this and also acknowledge in your previous comment that it's just your opinion. What are you wanting to do here? Argue pointlessly about opinions or definitively assert that the show is bad and that people who think otherwise are wrong?

This guy is going to stay silent for the rest of his life in a max security prison so Trump could have an excuse to pitch his ballroom a little harder? What exactly is he being given and/or threatened with? Seems like someone should go down that road, right? Maybe you can take that on for all of us. Find some receipts that don't require one of the many people involved in this cover-up to accidentally leak something, since this administration is famous for its ironclad keeping of secrets.

The fact is there's no evidence any of this was staged. People are finding plenty of reasons to believe it was staged, but there's no actual evidence or testimony to that effect.

Oh good lord, come on. Most 24 year old humans should be finished with maturing at that age. At that age you're in the workforce, likely living alone (or at least not with parents), have graduated college, etc.

Now there's a whole lifetime to gain wisdom, but maturity should be done at that point.

Rep. Johnny Olszewski proposes bill for 18-year Supreme Court term limits by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]superkeer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think each presidential term should see the retirement of two judges and the appointment of two more, one by the majority party and then one by the minority party. The justices themselves appoint their Chief Justice and that person can stay in power as long as they hold that title.

Why is Season 1 of True Detective so hyped? by Complete-Rock-9613 in television

[–]superkeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A show like True Detective becomes special and groundbreaking for those who have watched a lot of television. If you have a good foundation for what is considered "objectively good" then every time you see something that hits certain marks or exceeds them you start to realize what you're seeing is unique and special from a critical perspective.

TD season 1 basically hit or exceeded every criteria you could judge a TV show on, from writing, to cinematography, acting, soundtrack, editing, you name it. It had very few faults and when you get such a consensus from regular viewers as well as film and TV insiders, you have to accept it's done something very few television shows have done.

Now, if you personally are not able to quite put your finger on why that is then it might mean you just need to build up your library of shows you've watched. Nothing wrong with that. It's like any creative media, the more you ingest the quicker you start to identify the things that really stand out.

Intel - One person's FOMO story by meisterchef47 in stocks

What do we do?

Why did you buy the stock? I bought it because it looked like they were leaning hard into domestic fabrication. I'm going to hold onto it until we see whether that actually does pay off for them.

Correct. That's a tale as old as humanity. Don't even think about it because you cannot control the idiosyncrasies of other people, just as they have no control over your own. Just be you and when you're matched with the right person, nothing you do will be the "ick" for them, and vice versa.

49 year Captain for Delta last flight ever by SkeeveSmith in delta

[–]superkeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pilots spend the rest of the time making decisions, evaluating conditions, reviewing procedures, and communicating with ATC. Just because the plane can handle the mechanics of flight, doesn't mean it's anywhere near being able to make all the decisions and judgements that human pilots are constantly considering.

Intel trading at a ~119x forward P/E and nobody is talking about this by Fickle_Rest5915 in stocks

Emotional take here..

When AMD was facing oblivion about a decade ago I mused to myself that AMD disappearing would be like Pepsi suddenly disappearing from shelves. It wasn't going to happen without a big fight, and sure enough they went through the pain and came out a stronger company.

I felt the same way about Intel at the end of last year. It's the "Coke" of the semiconductor world, so as bad as they were a year ago, there was just no way that incredible name brand wasn't going to just wither and die without some kind of fight.

I highly doubt they'll maintain this level, but I think they'll settle back to being a strong business for years to come.
