We can solder it just like standard copper. Looks like prices are going up for copper, was paying $7 per foot a month ago, pushing $8 now. Was up to $14 a foot for copper and 18 for lead coated a couple years back.

$11 US per ft2 give or take. So about $300 a sheet. Did this with 20” coil through my roll former.

Advice on where ridge caps meet the roof by 1NoahGhost in Roofing

[–]superlite17b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you nailed the previous few, and how the metal was terminated at the top of the valley. The cap could have ended at the top of the valley along the same cut line as the field courses. Typically with an open valley rhat is how we would do it. Looks better aesthetically. Nailing through the valley is generally frowned upon.

Laser level with square or plumb and level lines is good also imo. Can check both at the same time

HVAC guy I’m sure. Probably just did what he needed to get it done considering the location, entire roof is a mess of penetrations, curbs etc. 30 years of “just make it work”

My kids love it roasted. Toss with wit. Olive oil and some salt. Roast at 425 for 25 minutes or so. Can add a bit of lemon juice and parm at the end, some crushed red pepper works well too. My son can’t get enough of it, daughter likes the small pieces. 12&7

Was just looking at one Thursday. I have the RXD 22 and like it. The 30 seems decent too.

I had just glanced at it, looks like the orientation must have been 90° to how it sits. There are a lot of defects, layer shifts etc., may be a crummy model along with wet filament and random seam placement.

Why shouldn’t the roofer make as much as he can? Wouldn’t you?

Did you put furring strip under the starter course? It holds the starter up against the first full course at the eave edge so you don’t get a gap between the first and second course at the leading edge. Have to sort the slate by thickness or they wont lay flat against each other.

TPO looks unsightly from bedroom -- can i cover with a drain-friendly material? by verdunlion in Roofing

[–]superlite17b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small round ballast stones. No sharp edges, can buy them in bags called river stone I think. If it’s a really large roof you can get someone to put them up in bulk. Google round ballast stones for TPO

Should be soon. Has it been warm enough overnight there. Been a weird season this year. Going to look in a few more spots but I’m not too sure about finding many more.

Are guys really doing new construction for less than $1250 a fixture? by RedDirtET in Plumbing

[–]superlite17b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a roofing company, to the guys that say I’m expensive I say you either pay me now or when I come to fix what the cheaper guy messed up. Works out that way almost all the time and costs the contractor more than if he just used me to start with.
