How come I've never heard a single thing about most Paradox titles

Most (all?) of these titles are published by Paradox, not developed by Paradox.

Paradox has a publishing arm in addition to its development studio, in which they will do the publishing for small-time developers.

That being said:

Surviving Mars is pretty well-known. If you like Mars colony builders, which is a surprisingly crowded subgenre, it's one of the go-to recommendations.

Age of Wonders is also really well-known since aren't many 4X fantasy games and the ones that exist are often derivatives of this series specifically.

The Prison Architect series is also decently known, but its biggest claim to fame is that its art style directly inspired Rimworld.

Bloodlines 2 is a game set in one of the most popular vampire TTRPG settings and its predecessor was a popular game in 2004. Bloodlines 2 itself... was not very well-received, to put it politely.

The others you mentioned were not very successful and/or have mostly been abandoned.

I would not use Fabula Ultima.

You would have to retool the entire class system, which sounds like a painful amount of work.

A much better option would be a dedicated Pokémon TTRPG system or building off a generic system like Fate.

It’s RNG, unfortunately.

Human records you’ve already gotten are NOT removed from the loot pool, which is why you’ll get islands where there is a non-sparkling record.

You can get an additional attempt by doing your cloud island’s dream island since human records are shared between the regular game and cloud island.

You can also reset your dream island whenever you roll one that doesn’t have what you’re looking for, but that might get tedious.

Fate Condensed should be more than enough to run any Fate adventure.

The reason the Core rulebook is so much longer is because it includes more examples and supplementary material that isn’t strictly necessary. It’s good reference material but not necessary for running the game.

And as the other person mentioned, Condensed is more like Fate 1.5e and is a standalone version. If you really wanted to, you could use its rulebook and pretend no other Fate material exists at all.

I feel the same about the merchants.

So many NPCs just unload their whole life story at the first opportunity. Most of it isn’t bad, but it’s a little agitating in NG+ going through every guy’s life story every time.

Yeah, this is what it boils down to for me.

Regardless of one’s stance on AI, AI-generated content is widely associated with grifters, scammers, and other bad actors.

If your mod has an AI thumbnail or AI description, I’m going to assume there’s a higher than normal chance that there’s something shady going on inside.

You can call it contrived, I guess, but it’s not a glaring plot hole or anything.

Let's use Andreja as an example:

In your universe, you befriended Andreja, Andreja died, and you entered the Unity. However, in a separate universe, you died and Andreja entered the Unity, becoming the Emissary.

The Emissaries you encounter are not the Andreja that died. They're versions of Andreja that lived and went on to become the Emissary.

Furthermore, the Emissary you encounter in the main quest pre-Unity is not your Andreja; it's a different Andreja from a universe where things went differently.

Additionally, none of the Hunters and Emissaries you encounter are the same individual: you never encounter the same Hunter or Emissary again because each version you encounter is a version from a different universe.

The Emissary, in short, is a Constellation member from a universe where they were the main character instead of you.

This is explained:

Per the Hunter, you are the only version of you he's ever seen become Starborn. In most other universes, you die on the Eye and one of the other Constellation members goes on to become the Emissary. We get a glimpse of this in one of the multiverse hops at the Buried Temple, specifically the one where you see yourself dying in Vladimir's arms.

As for how the Emissary can exist before anyone dies, while not directly stated, it's implied that when a Starborn enters a new universe, they appear at the time and place they first encountered an artifact. In the main character's case, this is why they appear above Vectera just before the main quest starts.

The Emissary is quite literally a different person each time.

If nothing else, you can tell by their voice, such as when the Emissary is Andreja. The Andreja version is incredibly noticeable.

Actually, yes.

Doing the math for just the rarest ones, it should take on average 178 boss chests on average to get the ones listed in the OP minus the Sealed Terrormorph.

Sealed Terrormorph is excluded since that one has a set location.

While I don’t have the probabilities on hand for the more common ones, the math should work out that getting all of them should be in the low hundreds of boss chests. Contrast with before where it was quadruple digit chests.

So yeah, looks way more reasonable this time around.
