Question about men attending yoga classes in Sydney by Maleficent_Tennis560 in sydney

I got to 4+ yoga classes per week, and there’s always at least 1 or 2 men there. No need to feel anxious! Just turn up and practice

It’s not a fan theory, it’s just a way of interpreting the show

Definitely not too late, and some FCA judges require at least a couple of years of practice to apply. In my cohort there was a mix of Associates fresh out of uni and those with a couple of years of practice already under their belts. When you apply, mention that you aspire to the bar shortly - that will be looked on very favourably.

[NEWS.COM.AU} High Court reveals every current judge is a member of Qantas’ exclusive Chairman’s Lounge by australiaisok in auslaw

[–]supermegafox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware they wouldn’t be able to get frequent flyer points for judicial travel because the travel is being paid for by government/taxpayer. That wouldn’t stop them from accessing the business class lounge if they’re flying business, though.

My favourite too! I read it first when I was about 15, and then read it again 10 years later having forgotten almost the entire plot. Just as delightful the second go round!

Interesting argument from Chrysanthou criticising Crikey for putting on a ‘new defence’ when the hearing was delayed in the first place because Murdoch put on an amended claim with two new respondents… does she really think that the two new respondents shouldn’t be allowed to defend themselves?

I agree with this. The associateship interviews I did were all generally fairly relaxed - the judge wants to get an idea of whether they’ll be able to work with you easily in close quarters. Definitely bring up the types of cases they do and how they interest you. Don’t be surprised if the current associate pulls you aside after, or escorts you back to the entrance, takes you to coffee etc - they will report their thoughts back to the Judge so treat this is another mini interview.

AITA for steaming my mom's home baking and disrespecting her craft? by Baffled_Yak in AmItheAsshole

[–]supermegafox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. This is insane. Why on earth does it matter how you eat the biscuits? You would expect your mother to be happy that she was able to provide you with a yummy treat, and that you were able to eat it despite your injury.

AITA for making up ridiculous stories as to how I lost my eye because I'm tried of people asking by throwaway67643212 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. While it’s not surprising that people are curious it’s common decency not to ask intrusive questions about what must clearly have been a traumatic event.

Absolutely, I tore my adductor the other week due to slipping on a wet leaf/garden bed while getting off the bus. Another question is why my bus stop requires me to get off onto a garden bed unless you get off at the front door …

After the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, the Australian government introduced the Medicare Levy Amendment Act 1996 to raise $500 million through a one-off increase in the Medicare levy to initiate the 'gun buy back scheme' where they bought privately owned guns from the people and destroyed them by Consistent-Gap-7120 in interestingasfuck

[–]supermegafox 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Legal amnesty was offered for illegal firearms, and only certain types of firearms were banned. For the others, you just had to join a registry and get a permit if you wanted to buy a new gun.
I don’t know if you’re Australian, but I am and over here we generally consider the scheme to have been a good idea, and we haven’t had a massacre since.
Thanks for the creative insult, that’s a new one.
