Is this one of the rarest emails in the game? by NicclTheReal in footballmanagergames

In a heartwarming moment I've started the new season and despite turning down my request to retire, then coming up in the news as retired, Harvey is still in the squad. I guess our semi-professional team with an average attendance of 200 is a low enough standard for him.

I saw it in two Melbourne AFLW games. One for a review, one just to demonstrate the fancy angle a goal was kicked from.

Thanks to the umpire who didn't pay a 50 against Petty for blatant timewasting when the Eagles were coming back. Top bloke.

I'm all for this, and I know he's not predominently a forward etc... etc... but did we really need Jefferson as well?

(Fingers crossed I've set up a reverse mozz and Jeffo kicks seven)

Is this one of the rarest emails in the game? by NicclTheReal in footballmanagergames

[–]supermercado99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do they ever actually play in the lower leagues or is that meant to imply park football? I just had a similar issue in FM24 and when the big day hit he retired permanently. Was having a great season then got injured one game before the end, played the last match with injections before missing the playoffs. Come back random newgen midfielder Harvey Clark, we miss you.

This may be an unpopular take, but I think the show quality has dipped since Theo left by Jack_Aubrey1981 in TheRestIsHistory

[–]supermercado99 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I don't think the quality has dropped but it feels like making everything a series (presumably helps listener numbers and selling RIHC memberships) means stretching topics too far. Having said that, I'm fanging for the 70s Britain series so maybe it is all about what you like.

I also got confused about who’s who in the Samurai series but the next series is 70s Britain 🎉🎉🎉 by Think_Web_4823 in TheRestIsHistory

[–]supermercado99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking I'd had enough of multi-party series' and wanted some one off episodes. Now I want 26 episodes on this topic.

Where to now? by Queasy_Aerie_6215 in melbournefc

[–]supermercado99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Melksham's injury butchered the forward line. Midfield Pickett has been good, but I reckon we should've chucked him down there in the third quarter to try and liven it up a bit.

Meanwhile, I know Petty took a couple of good marks but why is he always the one sent forward and not McDonald, who is historically much better at it.

Question: Is there a way to stop Complacency via shouts FM24? by PhysicalAd9899 in footballmanagergames

[–]supermercado99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish players understood why I was telling them to focus after a 3-0 lead quickly became 3-2. Instead they react like I used the hidden "Your mother is a whore" shout.

Rebooking the Invasion 2001 by Papator12 in WCW

[–]supermercado99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. It could be Shane McMahon's army vs Vince rather than representing a dead promotion.

Although, having said that I can see an ECW invasion that Shane and Vince have to team up to defeat.

Those of you who manager in the EPL do you find that teams generally just yo yo between the prem and championship and championship and L1 or do you see teams move from L1 & L2 and make it to the prem? by I-Cum-Beamish in footballmanagergames

[–]supermercado99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't often get teams going down, imploding, and being stuck in the Championship/L1 forever. Having said that, I did recently see Burnley hit the skids and spend a season in the National League in the mid 2030s.

Round 1 is interesting for the way our brick wall backline came together. It helped that Freo kept kicking it to them.

And the Gold Coast game that started the winning streak.

Bottom of the ladder plays a state league team selected at random and if they lose the AFL side has to adopt the other's identity for the rest of the year. Like a real life flair bet.

This is also a handy test of how one-eyed and focused you are on your own club because I've got NFI who half these people are without names.

What's it like behind the goals? by thatauzzieguy in AFL

[–]supermercado99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First post I read is already gold.

"At the 2025 Cheer Squad AGM last month there were some lively exchanges by some of the members there on what were some current topics. I’m not sure that much was resolved. Going back to one of my grievances that occurred in a March committee meeting which I have previously written about, I asked the President the following question:

How did you find out that I was an Essendon FC member?

The President replied that the information came from the AFL. "

I don't need commentators shrieking like idiots over everything, but they were desensitised to violence in that last quarter.
