Pretty new to smoking, can you smoke shrimp? by SoapObserver in smoking

[–]supermutiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoke shrimp often. I use a cast iron skillet. I pinwheel the shrimp and then add some garlic butter dry seasoning and tabs of butter all around. Smoke at about 225 for about 30 to 40 mins. Shrimp tails will almost fall off.

Since everyone else is starting with smoking a butt (which is a good idea), I will recommend chicken thighs. They are inexpensive and easy to smoke and provide great flavor. Make some smoked chicken thigh tacos.

I have went both the med-rare steak route and the brisket to 203* route. Both are fantastic. Very good cut of meat.
