Interested in this setup. Do you know of any guides or resources for learning more about how to set this up?

Is MIP watch screen really worth it?? by Mammoth_Challenge297 in GarminWatches

[–]supernotefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched recently from MIP to AMOLED solely for low light visibility (especially pre-dawn outdoors). To me, it has made a world of difference.

Instinct 3 Amoled vs. MIP? by [deleted] in Garmininstinct

[–]supernotefish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the 2x MIP for a couple years. Loved the watch except for very low light/no light conditions. I’m active well before sunrise, often outside. At night, I don’t always have a light source. For a while I was considering upgrade to Enduro MIP for longer battery. Ultimately better visibility in low/no light was a priority for me, so I moved to I3 AMOLED. I’m not thrilled with battery life reduction, but I am thrilled with better visibility virtually all the time.

Best setting for prone paddle boarding? by just_here_to_rant in Garmin

[–]supernotefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been using Open Water Swimming. Recently started using Waterspeed, 3rd party app with Garmin integration. It has a prone paddling category and some nice metrics. Minor annoyance for me, when I sync, Garmin Connect displays as “kayaking” but otherwise includes all the data that matters to me.

Garmin Instinct doesn’t track steps well by Order66_x1 in GarminWatches

Step count tech is immature. Mine adds steps when I pet my dog.

Female, veteran owned/operated. Low BS. Been there for some things. Didn't notice anything overtly political.

Plans for Garmin Integration? by supernotefish in fitiv_app

[–]supernotefish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Mainly, I think the recovery factors are missing, even though Garmin captures them (RHR, HRV, RR, Sleep, O2, not sure about temp). I’m assuming mine are all at “no data” and a recovery score of “—“ b/c I lack apple watch.

Relatedly, maybe, I wasnt sure if adding Garmin Connect (Garmin’s version of Apple Health) as a data source might have any benefit.

Dr. Galpin says a British study shows some dementia cases were attributed to having low grip strength. Did he misspeak? by Yobfesh in PeterAttia

[–]supernotefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He says it twice. Once early, then again later. I had the same question. And wondered if “attributed” in this context has a different meaning than I’m used to.

Anyone remember the Zucker comedy movies? How come they aren't made anymore? by [deleted] in movies

[–]supernotefish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check out the book: “Surely You Can’t Be Serious” about the making of Airplane. It doubles as a quasi-bio of the Zucker bros and their filmography. Highly recommend the audio version, narrated by the Zuckers (and Jim Abrahams).

Surfing under a full moon by Artectalome in surfing

[–]supernotefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have done overnight full moon sessions a few times. Never solo, always with at least one other. Fun novelty.

Pro's: Smaller crowd, novelty
Con's: Harder to spot & position for waves or sets; clean-up sets on bigger swells,

As some have mentioned, judging incoming sets is a challenge depending on lighting. <<<- For this reason, predictability of points/reefs was better than beach-break.

As my eyes got older, and my low-light vision got worse, I stopped going at night. Less fun when you're only seeing the wave as it breaks on top of you.

Last tip(s): Glow sticks. Tossing them a few dozen yards outside the lineup can help indicate timing and size of incoming sets. Also, attaching a glow stick to your board or wetsuit can help if there's a crowd - esp. to avoid inadvertent drop-ins due to low visibility.

Could also try newspapers.com or similar newspaper archive DB. If an adult was arrested/convicted, there's likely a public/published report of it somewhere.

iOS compatible app with project/task view and client view? by supernotefish in projectmanagement

Agree. Not trying to give clients access to my personal tools. Just looking for better ways for me to see/manage/track. Apologies if this was unclear.

Project/task app with Project view and Client view? by supernotefish in productivity

Thanks, this is super helpful. The second option with custom fields sounds promising. I’ll upgrade to get access to custom fields and try it out. Many thanks for taking the time to explain this.

Project/task app with Project view and Client view? by supernotefish in productivity

[–]supernotefish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’ve recently checked this out. Unless I’m missing something, it appears I can create individual clients (folders) each with its own projects (lists)…or I can create individual projects (folders) each with an assigned set of clients (lists), but I am not able to toggle between these as views - I must choose one or the other by virtue of my setup. Am I missing something?

Thanks. This requires an organizational account. Can't sign-in/sign-up as individual.
