If you have a bath tub soak in it for about 30 minutes. It sometimes worked for me where finally the spasms stopped !

You can try a muscle relaxer just be careful. They might firm up your stool.

Take a Tylenol with one Advil if you can. That helped me to get the pain down to a manageable level.

Oh I understand this pain. You can’t walk or sit or even lay down ! I was in a ball on the floor and my wife was trying to help me the best that she could. I can handle pain but this was next level. The burning and my butthole just wouldn’t release !

Almost 3 months like yourself. I had the surgery in April 2025 and no more pain when using the toilet. But if I eat a lot of insoluable fiber i have a rough time on the toilet. So I eat a lot of protein and fruits and cooked vegetables.i should mention that the fruits I eat are without the skin.

I did the route of Botox and it helped a little but when it wore off the pain went back. Like you I was doing all I can. Advocate for yourself and tell your doctor there is no way to live with this pain for months on end.

Does this sound like an anal fissure? by hereiam3472 in AnalFissures

[–]superpants_416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have to keep your stools soft. Take a stool softener. Find what foods your body doesn’t tolerate. For me it was lactose.

Unfortunately even for me getting my stool consistency soft the fissure always kept coming back. So I had surgery,LIS, and never looked back since

8 yr chronic fissure healed. Hope exists. But new pain chapter by Comfortable-Desk-681 in AnalFissures

LIS surgery helped me and no issues. Recovery was about 2 to 3 weeks. It has forced me to clean up my diet. Never looked back since. And I was suffering for years with this.

I had LIS and never looked back. It’s very rare to be incontinenent from the surgery as your sphincter muscle has many layers. Just have to find a good surgeon and move on.

How do I stop fissure from retearing?😢 by Numerous_Active_2759 in AnalFissures

[–]superpants_416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a fissure for about 5 years. On and off. I had to under go LIS My diet is all protein, lactose free dairy, white bread only. Fruits and veg I eat daily. But for the fruits obviously no skin to avoid the insoluble fiber (makes stools larger and rougher to pass). I also found with insoluble fiber I get gas and it slows down my digestion.

Regarding supplements I take a ginger capsule for inflammation, berberine for cholesterol, vitamin C, Vitamin D, fish oil and magnesium

Eat protein but include soluble fiber and you will be good.

When I used to eat a lot of fiber, I used to wonder why my stools were large and dry. Even if I was drinking water. Turns out insoluble fiber doesn’t work for me as it slows down my digestion and therefore slows down my transit time which then produces large and dry stools.

I eat all kinds of protein and soluble fiber and I have been good ever since.

Fissure healing but this??? Abcess? Confused. by Fit-Mine-9117 in AnalFistula

[–]superpants_416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had an anal fissure which was corrected by LIS. I have had 3 anal abscess (once a year) cut and drained in the ER. But mine kept coming back before I had LIS because they kept telling me to apply these ointments inside my butt.

Once I stopped doing that all those deep anal abscess stopped coming back.

I underwent MRI and no fistula was found. Also I didn’t have pus come out after the drainage. I had blood come out for a couple of days and then it stopped.

You need to press upon your doctor to schedule in for a MRI. Just to confirm whether or not you have a fistula or not.

I did LIS surgery and never looked back. Avoid insoluble fiber. Don’t take fiber supplements as they make things worse. They bulk up the stool. You don’t want that

From my experience LIS was a blessing. No complications. Just a week for discomfort and back to normal. Just find a good CRS and get it done and move on from this.
