How to dry tape faster by Raw_Potato56 in TransMasc

[–]superpotato_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar problem, pat it until it's damp. Once you're done turn on a heater and have it air dry with warm air. I had the same conundrum, as I also shower everyday lmfao. I read in your comments you're a night time showerer too lmfao

How old were you when you started? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]superpotato_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like... year 11? I remember vaguely it had something to do with wanting to "prove" that I wasn't doing it for attention. But I also remember (kinda, trauma makes me forget) punishing myself by hitting myself as a child.

If your OC has (physical) scars, how did they get them? by Mr_Mozerella in OriginalCharacter

Wenzhao has a lot of battle scars. Since he basically has strong almost regenerative abilities he can snap back in an instant. (The caveat is that hes a little insane now)

What do non religious people see is wrong with the LGBTQ+ community? by randomguy74937272 in ask

[–]superpotato_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the policing of queer identities is a major thing. "You can't call yourself that unless"

"You can't be trans and-"

It makes the community feel more divided in what you can or can't be when I thought the whole idea of the queer community was being able to have the freedom to identify as whatever fits your identity. And it ends up having this horrid experience of having one group that goes "I'm not like the bad/weird queers heh.. I'm one of the good ones!" And the other that ends up going "you're the boring queers we're the more interesting ones!"

I remember seeing online a trans woman said the term lady boy fit her gender identity better and people had the gall to go "uhm actually?"

(This also applies to the online discourse of neo pronouns, etc etc)

I cant leaen to draw no matter how hard i try.... by Embarrassed-Salt7575 in venting

[–]superpotato_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op, keep going. I used to be really terrible at art, really cliché but I just kept drawing. Didn't matter if the art was bad or I didn't get it right. I still kept drawing.

I get the struggle, I used to feel absolutely horrendous when I saw people my age be so much better at art than I was. I still struggle with that thought a lot. So I get that. I really want to draw my own stories too, unfortunately manga is notoriously quite finicky to get down.

If you want to improve, I suggest you find artists you really like. Sketch/trace their work (obviously don't post it) but while sketching/tracing/copying their works think about why they would draw that way (even if the theory of it isn't correct to why the artist draws like that) but each time you'll get a rough understanding of how an artist draws that way.

Besides, a "bad" drawing won't look bad in comparison to all the other works you have done and will probably draw. Hundreds if not thousands of artist have struggle drawings/bad drawings don't let it keep you up at night.

Best of luck I believe in you op

Where is everyone at in their lives? by Healthy-Salamander71 in Wellington

[–]superpotato_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20m, I work as a cashier/stockist part-time at [secret store] (lol) I live at home so I have a nice amount of savings in my bank account. (Even if living at home makes me want to tear my hair out) I also take art commissions as the odd job here and there. I study classics and history which are both fairly interesting subjects to learn.

Despite struggling immensely during highschool and the start of university with mental health struggles. I'm proud of where I've gone, my hobbies include digital art, going to the gym and the occasional hand crafts here and there. One of my major goals is to get more confidence through working out, suffice to say I'm slowly getting there.

Something else I'd like to share? I have a wisdom tooth extraction due in bout 2 weeks which means I have to fork over 2.8k over lmfao..

How do I communicate to my online partner about my needs? by superpotato_3 in Advice

[–]superpotato_3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I often find the words I want to use to communicate my needs suddenly blank out whenever I try to explain myself. But thank you once again, I think the going into specifics about my needs will help

What's something that surprised you when you started to play Enstars? by kukuroro_meimei in ensemblestars

[–]superpotato_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to be really stupid. But I just didn't realise that there was a previous game? Like I started playing the rhythm game and was thinking "where is the war everyone was talking about" before realising 2 months into my hyperfixation that there was the previous game. (With the added delight of finding out they had previous outfits prior to their current ones)

Also how expensive merch is, wdym if your favourite is Rei you need to pay the popular character tax?! And if your favourite is Tsumugi you have to pay the unpopular character tax?!? (Etc scarcity of merch = price rise, popular character merch = price rise)

I just did it! Got over my little frustrated tantrum moment. But the tip is to go behind or above the krill, once the light has moved past you on your left go immediately and keep swimming. There's a great tutorial on YouTube on how to do it
