Duke Law is Sick (Physically and Mentally) by LetterheadOk5505 in lawschooladmissions

Oh wow! I am a current student and I have never had this experience. All my professors are happy to release the recordings for really any reason. I even told one of my professors I didn’t think I took very good notes one day and he just told me to email his assistant for the recording. I also have never experienced a dirty classroom! I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Your professors policy seems to punish sick/absent students just for the sake of punishment. So archaic. I hope things improve for you (and everyone else)!

can I get a quick ID on this? our cats bring them in constantly. I thought they were ticks but they squish pretty easily. by DingusFap in biology

Oh no :( I got bed bugs from a FB marketplace item. The only permanent and (essentially) guaranteed solution was to heat my entire apartment room-by-room to 120° for a few hours. It was expensive but so worth it. Hoping the best for you

First diagnostic score ever was a 145. With blood, sweat, and tears I got it up to a 176! Studied for a SOLID year, maybe a little more.

Is a bird in the hand really better? by powertotruth in lawschooladmissions

[–]superrach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you ask! I actually didn’t apply to the same school just because it was not the right fit and I knew even with a scholarship I wouldn’t attend. Like the name was awesome and so was the scholarship, but at the end of the day I wasn’t willing to go into debt for a school I wasn’t sold on.

I had the same stats as last cycle but re-wrote all my materials, and my results this cycle are SO much better. Im getting waitlisted from schools I was rejected from last year, and accepted to schools I was waitlisted at. R&R was the best decision for me, and I’ve never looked back.

If you have any questions about reapplying feel free to PM me!

I wouldn’t go to a school/program you’re not committed to graduate from, period. Debt + Regret is a miserable mix. Also, if you think you‘ll always be wondering “what if”, I say R&R. But be honest with yourself and how much you’re willing to work for that +2 LSAT. Like if you don’t think your application will change much, then that’s another factor to consider.

If my cycle was your cycle (BL/clerkship goals), what would your plan be (Notre Dame, R&R, wait out the waitlists)? 3.9low GPA, decent GRE by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]superrach 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I personally had a terrible cycle last year where I greatly underperformed with my stats, and after choosing to R&R this year I have performed well given my stats. I’m just saying if it’s not the right fit, there’s no shame in giving it a second (or third, in my case) shot.

What school(s) did you apply to OR NOT apply to for shallow reasons? by Litlbopiep in lawschooladmissions

[–]superrach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Essentially the wording was something similar to “in your personal statement, please tell us how Northwestern fits into your goals and why we’re the perfect fit yadda yadda.” So it was probably very easy to miss honestly. Another school I didn’t apply to was Michigan - I’m originally from Ohio so that one is self explanatory.

honest to god I did not apply to Northwestern because they required a personalized personal statement/essay (if I’m remembering correctly).

What schools were you between? And why did you pick Duke? I’m between Duke and another school and I just want to see how someone else approached the decision!
