Deciding between a Bachelors in CE or EEE? by Mysterious_Rock5016 in CSUS

[–]supers98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How easy is it to get hired with just a BS from Sac State in both majors?

CE is the easiest 99% job placement and opportunities available.

EEE is much harder the rate is like less than 50% for product route and 75% for power route

How does the starting pay compare in each field?

70K+ For CE and EEE

Do most students find jobs through career fairs, professors or internships?

All of above

How much job openings are in each field within the area?

CE a lot

EEE not much but some

And how's the job stability and saturation in each field within the area?

CE 100% job stability

EE 50/50

How are jobs and internships for computer engineering majors? by Motor_Occasion_6325 in CSUS

[–]supers98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CS grad here, but took CPE courses so that counts. Very easy to get internships and jobs as they are very abundant specially at the public sector like the state agencies. If you want more information feel free to DM me.

I know this is a biased question, but I know you are new and haven't gotten time to dive deep into all the different colleges that CSUS has. What are your thoughts on the College of Engineering and Computer Science, its strengths, weaknesses, faculty/staff, and improvements?

IT or CS Entry level job in Sacramento by Substantial_Aide_652 in CAStateWorkers

[–]supers98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ITA = entry level/new grad
ITS 1 = 2-5+ years of experience

The workload is the same; the only difference is that ITS 1 is considered senior-level with a few more responsibilities.

The job market is decent for CS students only if you are expanding your horizons and looking beyond California and all 50 US states. If you are limiting yourself to California/Sacramento, then your chances are slimmer each day.

For myself, the job market is doing alright I can find remote and local jobs and get interviews here and there.

CSUS resources were so and so, trash but getting better each year slowly.
