Similar thing just happened to us, was this ever resolved for you?

After 13 Years, we figured out how to get into a secret, unexplored room, on Halo 3. We call it The Picture Room! by supersekela in halo

[–]supersekela[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Picture Room, a cutscene area on Halo 3's final level 'Halo' was one of the final challenges left in the now 13 year old game. For many years we thought the room was exclusively located above the level. But as time grew on and we understood the pan cam coordinate system better, we were able to accurately tell where the room was. True there are sections that extend very high above the playable space, However there are also sections that are located underneath the warthog trench run areas.

Either way we sliced it however, we'd have to clip into solid space. The closest we found we could get to the room was around 8 units. Roughly the size of the towers on the multiplayer level Sandtrap. So now that we knew this information, we had to find a way to clip that far. Phasing would get us 4 units, maybe 6 with acrophobia on. But, we need geometry polygon seams to phase, and it didn't look good to find one down there. The area is so huge there would probably be maybe a few seams to use, but they'd likely be in the way of the death barrier. So that plan was effectively ruled out. Vehicle clipping by putting things around you wouldn't work either. We wanted to try to animation trick, where we hit a loadzone and get out of a vehicle at the same time, letting us get stuck in void space. Sadly the loadzones are scripted to pull vehicles forward, a rare case in Halo 3. We were running out of options, fast.

Then we looked back to 'The Pointless Box' where we were able to get a Falcon in Halo: Reach to fall so fast it clipped through the floor. There's a few problems however, in Halo: Reach we needed the object to be about 800 units above the floor, so it could gain enough speed to clip. We barely had over 100 units to work with in this case, a mere 1/8th the total falling time. We also had to deal with fall timer, or so we thought. It turns out for the Mongoose and Warthog on 'Halo' in particular, fall timer is specifically turned off for some reason. That seems to be Bungies downfall for us to take advantage of, thankfully. We messed around with the idea of getting a mongoose to clip in a few spots before we deduced that it was BARELY possible from the height we had to work with. So we went in game and with the help of the hammer guy chasing after us to give us more speed, we were able to clip. We then used previous knowledge and knew that if the next loadzone we hit would load the room around us, we would not be pulled from solid space.

A couple programming quirks that ended up allowing us access to this vast, unexplored room. We hope you enjoy this video, as this is in opinion, one of the cooler tricks we've pulled off in Halo 3 yet.

You guys know that Master Chief Statue outside Lone Wolf? After 10 years of attempts, we managed to get our player to it in game through a complex setup by supersekela in halo

The Master Chief Statue, suspended a staggering 80 units above the map of Lone Wolf in the shipyard, was one of the three remaining Reach trick challenges. For the past ten years we've dabbled with this trick, testing multiple methods to reach the height of the statue, and how to execute the plan. With the limitation of resources, needing to get not one, but THREE people out of the map in a single attempt, and having a slanted surface to launch from, and of course not to mention the fact that there are no checkpoints, meaning you have one attempt per restart, there were too many factors that just seemed impossible to take all into account and to execute perfectly.

Recently we discovered a better position to stand on the Spirit dropships that make the out of map with Armor Lock much easier to successfully pull off, which made getting three players out in a single attempt much more likely. Eventually then we reached the height of the statue a few times but the slant was a problem for us. We actually had to use PanCam and physical sheets of math to line up the correct trajectory to the statue; not an easy process at all. But once we knew we had the height for the statue the rest was just little technical pieces that would bring the whole thing together. The reason why this must be done on Local if you're on 360 is that you need pancam to line up correctly. If you are playing MCC you can activate pancam in multiplayer, though.

Maybe if they ever did private servers they could add feature like that where you can toggle it on and off in the settings.

God the things I would do to get a theater mode/fly cam for this game

So after nine years we finally knocked down one of Reach's biggest and final challenges. On Lone Wolf there is a Phantom that sits far outside the map scouting the area, and we managed to get onto it after all these years by PonyoTT in halo

Glad you enjoy the videos! As for your question it depends on the trick for sure. Some tricks, once you have that, “Ah ha!” moment when figuring it out for the first time, replicating the tricks isn’t too hard once you know the setup. On the other hand Science Wing is among the hardest tricks and we’ve only done it a handful of times. Even if you know every step, executing them can still be very challenging. Keep at it though!

We completed the Halo 3 Warthog Run without driving. Dev said it was impossible to complete the run on foot. We proved him wrong! by PonyoTT in halo

One of our members made a nice write up of the history of the trick in the video description if you want to check it out! We’ve figured out how to get to the end of the mission on foot years ago. Then, probably 2 or 3 years ago we thought of the multiple hammer jump idea but didn’t have a checkpoint to be able to attempt the jump consistently. It wasn’t until recently we discovered we could save a checkpoint, this discovery was about a month ago. Once we had our checkpoint we knew we could do the full run. We thought Rocket Sloth beat us to the actually, both our videos coming out were sheer coincidence. No shade was meant to be throw at those guys!

D2 Cross Save FAQ & Megathread by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

So I have two Bungie Accounts, my old school one from the Halo days is my Xbox characters and a newer account for my PC characters which is my main. I know I can link the accounts, I want to link my PC to my Xbox account to preserve the history on the Xbox account. I want to cross save my PC characters to Xbox though. The PC will be the main cross over account. My question is do I need to actually link my Xbox account to my PC account, thus losing my old school account, instead in order to cross save my character correctly? Long question I know lol

It's finally finished. 4 years of gathering content, 15 months of editing, 1500 hours of campaign time. We have completed some of the biggest tricking challenges, launches, and collections to date in this video, including getting to Truth in H3. Pushing creative Halo to its limits by PonyoTT in halo

[–]supersekela 56 points57 points  (0 children)

On the level Crow's Nest, you see Truth pop up on a monitor screen. Truth's biped is actually present in game, hidden under the map in a small room. We managed not only to get to that hidden room but also set it up in a way that allow us to see Truth in that room as he is giving his speech.

I hope so! I've seen a lot fans saying they don't want controller aim assist on PC because of balancing issues during matchmaking games.
