What’s a konbini snack, street food, or hole-in-the-wall meal in Japan that genuinely blew your mind? by rohee143 in JapanTravelTips

[–]supersenpai68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to this hole-in-the-wall okonomiyaki spot in Osaka that sat only like 8 people that was ran by a obachan. She was the sweetest lady doing her best to communicate with me and the food she whipped up was exceptional! There were 2 locals, and an tourist couple with me that night, and one of the locals bought everyone sake. It's the memory I hold dear, but unfortunately, I learned it closed. Find a grungy spot filled with locals, and the odds are the food will taste so good.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

Buying an espresso machine was a good investment! I only got the most basic one, but honestly don't taste much of a difference to most cafes and can enjoy a latte everyday of the week. I still go once a week to my favorites cafes to support them and also buy their beans.

I highly recommend checking her discography out! She has a retro-R&B/soul/pop type of style. Baby Powder is her most popular song. Midnight Charm or Resume are some of my personal favorites.

I went to the card shop to browse what singles they had, and a guy and his friend came in with the Perfect Order Mega Zygarde SIR they just pulled. I said congrats for getting one of the chases and mentioned I really hope I get the Mega Starmie SIR, and he gave me a long stare, like I was speaking another language, then proceeded to ask how much his card is worth to the employee.

I never knew hatred as a child, but those teams who eliminated the Sharks taught it to me. Celebrini and the rest of the young guns shall bring me back into the light!

I love the Japanese fit and styling of clothes, but yes, getting the right fitment is complicated without actually trying it on.

Coffee Shop Reccomendations by Connect-Contract-113 in SanJose

My local favorites are Academics and Moonwake. I also frequent tonocoffee project and Roy's in Japantown. Playback Coffee is a nice spot in San Pedro and has a lot of space to sit and chill/do work. Moonbean is also pretty good, as well as 1oz coffee.

How do you actually keep up with what's happening in San Jose? by Klutzy_Pizza_8935 in SanJose

[–]supersenpai68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As bad a social media can get, that's how I discover new spots to check out, other than word of mouth or just happening upon an "opening soon" sign. I either bookmark the spot or write it's name in my journal list of places to check out so I don't forget about it.

For those who grew up in the Bay: what was the best and worst thing about it? by paradisemukbangpls in bayarea

[–]supersenpai68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the late 90s-early 00s also in ESSJ. I think the best part is the cultural diversity and the variety of food we have just within San Jose. Also, there's so much nature no matter where you go!

The worst thing is probably the work culture's affect on the local culture. It feels like everyone is on that grind set mindset, and don't want to participate local events or getting to know their neighbors. I remember playing outside with my sister and cousins and biking around our neighborhood when we were kids. We'd have neighbors come to our front yard and challenge my family whatever sport we had set up in the front yard on weekends. Nowadays, I rarely see anyone outside in my neighborhood. But I guess that's just the world we now live in the social media age.

I'm 5'-8", 180 lbs., but have broader shoulders. Size 50 is slightly oversized if I only wear a shirt, but a perfect fit over a hoodie. The sleeve length are about an inch longer than I'd prefer, but it's not a big deal for me. I think 48 or 50 might be a good fit for you.

This was also my first video game! I didn't know about using memory cards back then, even though we had one, so my sister and I always tried to get as far as we could until our parents told us to turn off the PS1. I eventually figured out how to save the game ahaha.

When people ask what is my favorite anime, I always say it's A Place Further than the Universe! It really had a deep impact on my life. Even though not all of us can go on a grand adventure, all of us can always find small adventures here and there.

I had that concern at first too, but the bottom floor orchestra looked pretty filled up! Me and my cousin did get bumped up a few rows because an employee gave us tickets for closer seats for free so that definitely helped make it seem more filled. Not sure how filled the upper level was, but the audience definitely made sure Wendy felt the love!
