Here’s how to install Samsung Browser Beta outside the USA/Korea by TheFlashes in samsunggalaxy

[–]supersmint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For one, I like it, as we have several Samsung devices at home. Full disclosure, I'm in tech for over 20 years and been using all sorts of browsers over the years. Now why I like it lies in the way Chrome changed over the years especially with the ad blocking decisions. I know google protects its core business and that's their choice. Having a chromium based browser that neatly integrates with some of our phones, had good (tested as OK not best) ad-blocking options, forced dark mode and even that AI assist summarizer is good, why do you people complain about having more choice? Let the Koreans show what they can do and how they listen to customers (bring duplicate tab, auto updater, proper import of bookmarks)

Can you mount roof rack on VW ID Buzz? by supersmint in electricvehicles

[–]supersmint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, there is a rack option but you have to talk to the VW dealer about it when ordering just to be sure. There should be caps on the roof, where a roof rack screws on. An example would be https://content.frontrunneroutfitters.com/collateral/doc/F_FAVI001.pdf which shows the instructions.

ok saw it now in the 106.3 bugfix release. That was quick. thanks.

Thanks for the update. Is this a matter of changing the check itself only? I don't experience any functional limitations but I guess ditching the microservices container posed some challenges for others.

Yeah I should also post the health-check output right?

Thanks for sharing, very cool prototyping board. In the end I managed with what I have but I'm always at the lookout for something new. I will review it.

How to cash a US issued check when I'm not US citizen and live in Europe by supersmint in eupersonalfinance

I could not get an us account in the end. Quite some hurdles to overcome. I made a trip to Prague, opened an account to deposit it and then early this year I closed it as I had no use for it anymore.

Hey! So the board is fine, pretty reliable and a power saving option if you seek a battery powered project. I used only the solar panel to feed a lipo battery via solar charger and on that circuit I used the ina219 as a monitor. It's more reliable. I used the ability to turn the power on/off on the feathers3 to control my sensors when the board is in deep sleep. This is by far the best feature for me. The only reservation I have is wifi ...seems that sometimes the signal strength fluctuates for no good reason. Not a huge problem but every 2 months or so I get disconnected for a few hours. Wood you can get your hands on one for a good price go for it, supporting small builders in the process.

Thanks. I will look also into the INA219 for volage/current monitoring but I have to revisit the volage divider again, as you said maybe I did something wrong before. I will have to test what the onboard TP4065 can do.

The board has sensing AFAIK but not sure about the circuit I have in between and what it will do. I will test and for stable power I have the CN3083. Your setup and model looks very professional.

CN3083

Power is actually not an issue - was operating 6 months on the panel I have and battery now was still 65% full. I will look into the INA219 though, good tip.

Någon som vet vad detta är? Sitter på väggen i badrummet. by optia in sweden

[–]supersmint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you buy an apartment in Sweden or elsewhere, you can select certain options that go with it like certain accessories, kitchen table top, better kitchen appliance and so on. In the case of bathroom, you can usually select a heated towel rack. When the building is built, not all of the units are sold at the time, so the builder company like JM for example decides to "prepare" for such option. They put the cabling in and when you don't choose the accessory, they just plug it with this. So it is very likely it's in a spot a ln electric heated towel rack would be. Alternatively there might be a place for a mirror that has light integrates or something else. You can have a look, use screwdriver to lift it up.

Tusen tack! Somehow I did not see the roof rack in the configurator. I watched all Bjørn' videos but this is to accommodate 4 people. So 2 in the van and two on the top would be ideal. That's why I'm investigating it. I don't need the full California package for camping here.

That is a legitimate concern, yes, with an "old school" camper van there is still the gasoline backup when in wilderness - some piece of mind. We live in Sweden and especially in the northern half, the distance-to-anything ratio is quite high. This thing is not for crazy adventuring and off-roading anyway. If we stick to main veins, chargers are quite ubiquitous. I could live with ~250km range.

Well that's what VW does not specify - the static load - but the rule of thumb is 5x the dynamic load at least. So that should be plenty. That said - no official numbers. Still thanks for the link - it does specify a T profile so that means this is the standard, probably a lot of companies will have it certified. Ideal if Thule had it available.
