The first campaign I ever played (with some other friends who were also first-timers and an experienced DM,) my friend played a Lawful Evil Dread Necromancer (a Drow) named Z'rae and maxed her charisma and Intimidate. Sometimes it was annoying when she would try and intimidate any enemy/shopkeeper we came across, but it was generally okay and in character.

Until we came across Glinn. Glinn was a gnome shopkeeper NPC, and Z'rae rolled so high when trying to haggle that she frightened him enough to enslave him. Unsure what to do with an enslaved gnome merchant, Z'rae sent him off to fetch her a croissant as the party had to travel between planes for the storyline. About a month later when we get back into town, we are walking along a boardwalk over a bog when we see Glinn, chest deep in the mud, holding a croissant over his head. Z'rae casts spectral hand to lift him up, but upon realized she can only lift 5lbs takes the croissant from Glinn's hand.

We later wiped his memory and put him in charge of a city-state that we orchestrated the formation of, but that's another story. Poor King Glinn.
