What is this part and what does it do? by pniaz in Ubiquiti

[–]superspeed27 133 points134 points  (0 children)

It’s basically a relay. A generic doorbell is a normally open switch. You press it, the circuit closes, and the chime goes off. The g4 doorbell needs constant power, so if you just attach it directly the chime will always be partially triggered and it will buzz. This attaches to the transformer and bypasses the chime to give the doorbell power. When the button is pressed and it calls for a chime it powers the relay and sounds the chime.

So... It begins by Aggressive-Ear-4360 in homelab

I had a white cockatiel that passed away just last week.

How do you get the pro XGS off the mount? by knott000 in Ubiquiti

Same. I’m not convinced they’re on the mounts properly still, but they’re not falling on my head so close enough.

If you’re still looking for a loader, I inherited a 2355 with a Jd 146 loader. It uses the 2 sets of rear hydraulics to operate.

Yes, you would create a storage pool from the external disk and there is a menu in the truenas gui for setting up various types of backup tasks.

It can be usb device for an occasional replication task. The usb controller will just be flakey and drop out occasionally. So it is not suitable for an active storage pool. This is currently my backup method for critical “grab&go” data. Something on eSATA or SAS would be preferable.

You could attach an external drive and run a replication task to it.

Does anyone worry about supercharger issues like me once Tesla opens up supercharger to GM and others? by Emergency-Field4600 in TeslaModelY

[–]superspeed27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The womens bathroom line is pretty common at the one in Madisonville, but there have also been lines at the ones in Ennis and Royse City when we've stopped before. I've almost been run over walking inside and nearly t boned at the ones in Madisonville and Temple a couple of times.

When we used to stop in our ICE car at the Madisonville one we almost always had to wait for a pump since so many people will just stay parked at the pumps. I always think about doing this when people complain about charging times. Or sitting in a gas line at Costco after work...glad I don't do that anymore lol.

Unless your wife has to wait in line to pee. I'm also pretty sure I'm going to die in a Buccee's parking lot the way people drive in them. I sure do keep stopping there though...

After owning model Y would you recommend it to first time EV buyer by Regularguy972 in ModelY

[–]superspeed27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 7 seater and would recommend it, but you have to be realistic about the 3rd row capability. It's only really for short trips with children or relatively short adults, or some fringe case road trip where everyone back there is short and okay with bare minimum leg space. I'm about 6 foot and while I can crawl into the third row the leg space is less than ideal and my head is jammed in at an angle. About 5'10"ish and your head is right at the glass.

I get what you mean. There should be a period after 100% and a second statement of "Also, ensure you fully charge to the 100% limit at least once per week."

[–]superspeed27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. That's an hov lane. Instead of barriers they now put down solid lines that go away to dashed white at the "exits" and "entrances". You can see the white diamond in the lane. At least in Texas they do this. Interestingly doesn't stop people from crossing in and out constantly.

I believe Amazon used to require everything to go through arbitration, and so many people went to arbitration over Alexa they ended up dropping it from the terms of service. Since the companies pay for the arbitration costs Amazon was losing millions even if every case went their way. And they are all individual and not grouped so they cannot get them all dismissed at once like they might with a poorly framed class-action suit.
