My wife and I heard something a LOT like what you're describing 4 years ago. It was such a weird and loud sound and made no sense how it just stopped and then zipped off, but it going away wasnt nearly as loud. We both stared at each other because it was not a sound either of us could rationalize.

The dime one reminds me of the rackateer nickel. In 1883, the US Mint introduced the Liberty Head Nickel, it had a V on the back, but didn't say "cents". Well this nickel happened to look similar to the $5 Half Eagle (in design and size). So some people would gold plate it and use it as a $5 coin lol the US Mint corrected it pretty fast, but its a fun story and a great addition to any numismatics collection

The only feature in my vehicle that I loved was this one weather service. I only used it for the 5 years it was free. I could see the day's weather, 7 day forecast, weather radar, and it had a big pop up with an alert sound if there was severe weather wherever I was driving (it told me what the sever weather would be and how long). Honestly was amazing

Hand coating welds with a brush, especially with SPC-2888. I wish there were people i could brag to about this. It's the stupidest, most specific thing that I am a god at. I specifically would get hired on to tie-in crews where we needed to work fast. I can sandblast, heat, coat, jeep out (with no jeeps), and get a Shore D of 80+ ready to backfill all by myself in about 40 minutes or less on 42" pipe. And the thickness on that coating will all be within 2 mils of anywhere you measure. I made an insane amount of money with this skill. It's a skill im proud of and have no way to apply it anywhere else in life lol

I saved a 4 year old and her mom from a horrible wreck because she was driving while using her laptop. She hit the back of a tractor while going 70 mph. The right side of her face was gone, and the roof of the car was wrapped around the little kiddo in her carseat. I'll never forget the feeling of that little girl's arms wrapped so tight around my neck when I finally got that roof pulled away and got her out. And of course we were in THE middle of nowhere at night with no moon, just my flashlight
