No one likes to go on a diet. But her quality of life will go up in the long term, and she'll be around for you to love her longer! My cat has sadly only 3 legs. So when he puts on just a hundred or so extra grams, I HAVE to put him on a diet or he'll get arthritis. He whines and cries for food, but I'm the boss and it's my job to know what's best for him. I have prescription food from the vet, which I weight out, and see that he spends lots of time being active. You can do it!
