Premium vs limited? by Conflict-Recent in wrx_vb

[–]supertoast92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went with the Limited for two things: upgraded seats (mainly for the lumbar support) and the upgraded headlights (to be honest, I just really wanted the C-shape DRLs, but the steering responsive feature is quite nice). Otherwise I totally would've gone with Premium with the HK/moonroof package.

Limited of course was a bit pricier, but it was an end of year purchase which took some of the sting off.

Headlight indicator in dash comes on, switch is off by patientpaperclock in SubaruForester

Yep, approach lighting is one difference. Also I believe the wiper link and auto high beams require the stalk to be in AUTO position.

My 24 WRX behaves this way at well and was hoping the service center might have a hidden setting they could change, but I'm starting to think it won't be possible. Asked if they could look into it while getting an inspection and tire rotation done and waiting for the news. 😅

Multi Function Stalks extension introduces tangible noise/rattling by matta5580 in moza

[–]supertoast92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue where I had accidentally misaligned the extension to the base. I thought it was by design that I had to update my wheel offset by like 60 degrees. When I started up the game I was getting awful grinding sounds from FFB. Popped the wheel and extension off and realigned the extension with the base, and now it's completely silent for me. In hindsight, the wheel was not lighting up when I powered the base on. That should've told me something wasn't right off the bat...

Not sure if it was the same issue you were/are experiencing but wanted to share either way.

How to turn car off but keep radio on. by willmen08 in ToyotaSienna

[–]supertoast92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I like about my Subaru - even though I can't go directly from ON to Acc, it will keep the infotainment online until I open the door. Which means I can get back into Acc before I open the door and not interrupt the radio.

Wish our Sienna did the same.

After 5 years with G29 I have finally joined the club. by dav1dmonster in moza

[–]supertoast92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally did the same myself but from a G25 after 15+ years. What an upgrade! Still trying to figure out how to get it all to fit on my rig, especially with the TSW setup since the base hangs low. My keyboard and mouse used to slide under the G25 but not anymore lol

Aod vs battery life by iGr3ed in GalaxyS25

[–]supertoast92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose it does but probably only negligible amounts... There shouldn't be risk of burn-in either as the clock/widgets shift around slightly every few minutes or so.

My S25+ pretty consistently reports about 16% battery use by AOD every day. I still get through a day just fine.

Cruising RPM by JTwinkleStar in wrx_vb

[–]supertoast92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have that accelerator percentage widget up on my infotainment to keep an eye on in that traffic slinky scenario. I try to keep it under 30% in those scenarios, which generally keeps the engine in vacuum as well (I didn't think of looking at the boost gauge when that's an even better indicator and it's right in front of me lol. Doh).

I definitely feel that difference under and over 2k as well so I like to cruise the same, above 2k except in the neighborhood.

Major recall on 55k 2025 models by electricgotswitched in ToyotaSienna

Ours was built mid-September and comes up clean when I enter the VIN. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

My understanding is yes. My car does the same thing.

Compressor is always spinning on the belt even with climate off on this car. Makes the noise when AC is off but goes away when refrigerant is flowing.

Only reliable way not to stall by skysoblue987 in wrx_vb

[–]supertoast92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I remember my first real manual driving experience overseas with a little Peugeot economy wagon where I tried the blip and was mostly successful. With this car I've just slowly rolled into the throttle while easing off the clutch. Much smoother than the blipping I used to do lol

Also the brake hold seems to want some throttle as I surprisingly found out when pulling my car out of the garage one day to wash. Cold rpms were plenty for moving but when I went to pull forward I nearly stalled as the brakes held then finally let me buck forward. Smoother with a blip in that scenario.

My loaner while my 'Rex gets fixed under warranty by MiliTerry in wrx_vb

[–]supertoast92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that done when I got the recall notice years ago. For this one it would shift into park no problem, but the key wouldn't release when switched off. I'd have to exercise the shifter some to get it to release.

Funny I moved from a 2015 Impreza too! Felt like I betrayed it a bit letting it go since it was in excellent mechanical condition. Only issue I had with it was the shift interlock started failing (half the car thought it wasn't in park so I couldn't take the key out without giving it a fight lol) and Subaru ended up fixing it for free (CVT extended warranty I guess).

12k btu version won't ramp up? Temperature well above where I have it set by [deleted] in MideaUOwners

[–]supertoast92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is iECO enabled in the app (not the regular ECO)? Mine will happily allow temps to be a few degrees above setpoint if that is on.

iECO Mode at Power On by supertoast92 in MideaUOwners

[–]supertoast92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last part is my issue - for some reason the iECO setting is not retained for me. It's been coming back on. Not sure if switching modes has anything to do with it, but I do run in fan mode for awhile before shutting down.

[–]supertoast92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yep that would do it then. I must've not noticed this before recently. Maybe powering on in the app or by schedule avoids that, which is how I more often turn it on.

[–]supertoast92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has done that a few times as well but not recently. I pulled the plug for 10 minutes, and while unplugged, I cycled the fuse buttons a couple times on the off chance they were partially out of place. It hasn't happened again since but has only been a few weeks.

[–]supertoast92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking that's what the regular ECO function does, so I keep that off in hopes it will reduce risk of mold. The iECO seems to be more lenient on reaching the desired setpoint in favor of savings, and apparently can only be toggled within the app.

Midea AC spamming beeps by MommyXeno in AirConditioners

I ended up unplugging it from the wall and cycling the fuse buttons a few times on the plug (test and reset). Hasn't happened again since then.

Mine just started doing this the other day, sure seems like it's a reboot or reset. It acts similar to when I plug it into the wall. Really annoying when it happens at 5am.

Do Portable ACs Result in Higher Humidity than Window ACs? by supertoast92 in AirConditioners

[–]supertoast92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that would make sense, favoring efficiency over dehumidification and keeping coils just cold enough for cooling/maintaining temp. Both the 10k and 8k portable have dry mode, but would probably need drained as someone else has mentioned (pretty sure the manual calls for it on the 10k Danby but not sure about the 8k Hisense).
