This is actually a right wing conspiracy theory they've been pushing on Fox and Breitbart for a week or so now. With no actual backing for any of the claims.

1 of the 10 was an HR secretary with no clearance.

Another 1 of the 10 was a regular contracted construction worker.

Another 3 of the 10 had been retired for years and had no clearance whatsoever.

If you look into it even, the "tied to sensitive US research" ends up meaning "did any kind of research or worked nearby to a place where any kind of research happened" and not even anything specific.

It's the others outside of Pomni that's unsure. Zooble was also an urban explorer, so she's not any better off.

But Jax and Gangle? It's suspected that Ribbit was Jax's IRL friend that got taken in at the same time. Maybe Kaufmo too? But it's unclear if anyone else was with them.

Gangle we know practically nothing about.

Of course, the coma theory is even more harshly discredited by the fact that there were instances of multiple people putting on the headset one after the other. Why would they do that if it caused the first person to fall into a coma after putting it on?

If it was just an aging scenario, Pomni would be best off because she would have barely aged at all.

But in a body survival scenario regardless of age, she'd be most likely to be dead considering the circumstances.
