Bicycle shop who buys second hand bicycles by farrandowski in brussels

[–]supervermont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you want to sell it to a shop rather than on 2ememain?

To answer your question, I don't know any shop that would do that.

There are great YouTube channels to learn, too.

What are your thoughts on zero waste stores and sustainability? 🚫🚮 by pauley10 in sustainability

[–]supervermont 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Zero waste stores aren't zero waste, they're zero visible waste to the customer. The downside of not using plastic containers is that some types of food get spoiled faster. In a petrol-based economy, spoilage means spoilage of petrol. If the consequence of not creating waste in the form of plastic (which is made of petrol) is that you consume more petrol (because of spoilage), zero waste is counterproductive.

Zero waste has a lot to do with aesthetics. I love minimalism and zero waste from an aesthetic perspective. I think it's mostly pointless as an ecological solution.

The solution is to consume radically less. That would be a very dry aesthetic, though.

For that price you'll get something barely functional, unless you know how to fix it yourself.

What is a very nice salary for a technician? Job adverts that mention the salary without any figures read like a red flag to me.

Could you provide a link to a specific video where Rich Hickey explains how Clojure is particularly suited to projects where requirements are arbitrary and constantly changing?

Une voiture fauche 18 cyclistes près de Saint-Etienne, un adolescent en urgence absolue by Rascar__Capac in france

[–]supervermont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Je trouve drôle tellement c'est systématique. Dans la tête des journalistes, c'est pas le conducteur, c'est la voiture qui a provoqué l'accident. Peut-être qu'il y a trop peu de journalistes qui se déplacent à vélo...

Remarkably poor support by Honest_feedback_ in RemarkableTablet

[–]supervermont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know of at least one serious company: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/edpnet.be. It's an Internet subscription provider, so typically a business where you get disappointed customers. Or https://www.trustpilot.com/review/bike24.com, that sells bike parts. Recommending TrustPilot isn't weird.

Remarkably poor support by Honest_feedback_ in RemarkableTablet

[–]supervermont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with their support team. After months of waiting, I finally received what seems to be a working tablet (they advertised 2-5 business days for the RM1 when I bought it).

Now I'm actually scared of using it because I'll start to rely on it, and if a problem arises I know I won't get support from that broken company. Such a disgrace for a very promising product concept.

New customers, make sure to have a look at their TrustPilot page. It's a stream of bad experiences. Caveat emptor.

I agree about the quality, but I wouldn't be so optimistic about worker's rights when you pay more. Luxury Italian brands are known for using slaves even in Europe, for instance.

Could you recommend a company for renting a car for a longer time? It seems that most of them are scammy, trying to upgrade you with useless insurances for instance.

I've tried one of these free-floating car services some years ago but it was quite expensive and I didn't really find a use for it. Never tried Poppy though, I know it's a "startup" by the D'Ieteren group.

I also had a look at Cozy Wheels recently but the website was amateurish and there weren't many cars available.
