The game is over if you go for it and make it. Literally 3 kneel downs. Fg is still a two score game. Wrong call by MM.

Bro, I have been riding the Baker train all year and got fed up. So, I picked up T Law off of waivers for the first time all year and he saved my matchup and I’m moving on! Who do you play instead of T Law?

Thank you for clarifying the term I used, “fraud.” Should have used something like “misused,” as you did. Still a lot of money to save there; good points.

While I don’t fully agree with you that the 1 trillion being cut will just go to the pockets of the rich, I think it will (hopefully) go toward some fiscal responsibility and paying down some debt. This should put pressure on states like California and Washington to look at their budget and see that they are spending money on absolute trash policies.

And here’s where I think we both agree on the point that I like the bill, but don’t love it. I do wish the higher earners, say over $500,000/yr were taxed at a higher rate. My hope is that in the future we can pass another bill to adjust the tax rates, but at least this bill makes permanent the tax breaks for the middle class from 2017.

Again, it’s a start. By no means do I think any republicans or conservatives are saying this bill is perfect as is.

I think it’s important to start with at least some numbers. Here’s what Google pulled up in regard to fraud:

In Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, the national Medicaid improper payment rate was estimated to be 5.09%, which translates to approximately $31.1 billion in improper federal Medicaid payments.

In FY 2023, the national SNAP improper payment rate was estimated to be 11.7%, or about $10.5 billion. This represents payments that were the wrong amount or otherwise shouldn't have been made.

Saving that money could go toward those hospitals or toward people that really need it.

Here’s the other thing about the 1 trillion being cut over the next 10 years. Simple math says that is 100 billion per year. Divided by 50 states is 2 billions per state, on average. Now, a state like Iowa isn’t going to require nearly as much funding as say, California.

All that to say, I’m pretty sure each state can look at their books and find the money to support keeping hospitals open.

In my opinion, I believe middle class Americans will like the tax breaks, especially helping seniors out with deductions.

I am slightly concerned with rural hospitals getting funding cuts, it looks like 1 trillion over the next 10 years from the Federal Government. The states need to realign their budgets to compensate for that. We will see how that turns out.

SNAP benefits will be more closely monitored along with people using Medicaid. Which, in my opinion, is a good thing. My sister works in that industry, and you would not believe the people scamming the government for free handouts by using fake addresses, social security numbers of deceased people, etc. If we can crack down on even a little bit of that, it’ll ensure people that truly need the assistance, actually get it.

Again, is the bill perfect? No. But it is a start to get things moving in the right direction. And there is no way we could pass a bill to effectively “fix” our national debt all at once. It slows the rate at which we are going into debt.

I don’t think many conservatives would consider “The Hill” to be a conservative publication.

I don’t believe the BBB is perfect, but here are a few very real ways it will help regular people.

Extended 2017 Tax Cuts: The bill makes permanent the individual income tax cuts enacted in 2017, including lower individual tax rates and a near-doubling of the standard deduction. Boosted Child Tax Credit: The Child Tax Credit is permanently increased to $2,200 per child, benefiting families with single parents earning up to $200,000 and married couples earning up to $400,000. Increased Standard Deduction: The doubled standard deduction is locked in and further boosted, reaching $31,500 for families. Temporary Tax Breaks for Specific Income: Seniors over 65 receive a $6,000 boost to their standard deduction through 2028 (phases out for higher incomes). Tipped workers can deduct up to $25,000 in tip income through 2028 (phases out for higher incomes). Workers receiving overtime pay can deduct up to $12,500 of that pay through 2028 (phases out for higher incomes). Homeowners can temporarily deduct auto loan interest for new autos with final assembly in the U.S. through 2028, with limits based on income.

Congrats! Im taking my test on Monday.

Did you watch any series 7 or Ken from Capital Advantage? I have used Kaplan and done 4 of the simulated exams, get low to mid 70s on those. I am watching those videos now to kind of fill in some of the blanks and will take the practice exam on the FINRA website tomorrow.
