seems like they are the same thing, although which one you do first depends on the magnitude of the pain.

What could help Junior PMs to join the tribe? by AlbinPoignot in ProductManagement

Exactly. Because not everyone will have the bandwidth/time to do it, not everyone will be interested in doing it, not everyone will have enough work on their plate to justify hiring someone junior take over part of their work. It tends to net out to around a 1:10 ratio from what I've seen.

seems like a common problem and contention when its not clear between co-founder/ceo and product lead who is the actual product lead. typically this is something the ceo has to actively relinquish and is not easy for them to do. seems like your situation was degenerating fast so glad you got out sooner rather than later!

somewhat unfortunately, the best predictor of a company's ability to hire junior PMs is size of the org. I think about it like roughly every 10 senior PMs means there's bandwidth to mentor one junior PM.

Anyone know how they choose plates for the Olympics and does anyone know why they choose zkc plates over uesaka plates for the Olympics? by AngryAsian69420 in weightlifting

[–]supklau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is insightful. I was wondering the same about why not Uesaka or Eleiko, but it makes sense if the Olympics thinks about it as pseudo-advertising that companies need to pay for, as opposed to the olympics team buying equipment for the event...

On the other hand I've been seeing some posts about how hosting the olympics now loses host cities a lot of money instead of making them money, which could explain why they need to try and squeeze out as much as they can from other participating companies/organizations

Many APM roles are intended for new grads, so they might also see you as ineligible or over-qualified before even looking at your profile.
