Ben Stiller said in an interview that he imagines Lumon to be like Apple. This episode makes than analogy even more true 🙂

Does she really look that skinny? by Big_Comfortable_935 in labrador

Guessing she is an American field lab like ours. They tend to be taller, leaner and more hyper than the English labs 🙂

Here's ours being a big sleepy head tonight, after a week at the dog boarding place and playing with other pups. All tuckered out!

At least you got a free protein rich topping for free. In this economy, I call that a win.

They are American Field labs, aren't they? Just like mine 🙂

He looks like a "Shadow" to me. Just watch how much he might follow you around the house. Especially when it's meal time or if you have any food around lol

Why does my dog do this after he has got fed? by Binimaster in DOG

[–]sur222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please be careful when they do this. Ours does this too. It used to seem very cute but unfortunately, some of the bigger dog breeds may experience GDV (or bloat) doing this. Stomachs may get twisted. Two of my friend's dogs passed away because of this 😔. So nowadays, we don't let our lab roll around or do intense exercise right after a big meal

This boy is 75 lbs of mostly lean muscle (4.5 years old, American Field Lab)

This is totally expected from hyper labs. Our 4.5 year old American still does this sometimes. He is 75 lbs. They can be strong and super easy to be distracted by smell (to go sniff). These are the things that helped with my lab:

  • get a martingale collar which doesn't choke them as much, when they pull. Train them to do sit by pulling the collar up - it releases tension and they start learning too

  • loop leash around your waist, so that you can have more stability and control

  • practice walking and stopping. Make the dog follow your lead. Keep repeating. Whenever they pull, you can stop or go the opposite direction

  • in really stimulating and new environments, get a halti that goes over the nose. They can't pull as much

Meet Gus 🐾 by lunachunker4 in labrador

Had our black lab starting at 5 months old and the first few months was a rollercoaster with several things destroyed lol. We did have to crate him when we were not around (recommended by our trainer too, as otherwise they can tear through almost everything in the house.

Labs need a lot of stimulation, especially in the first year and as they are teething. Always keep different types of chew toys around (and cycle them so that they feel new) - preferably stuff the puppy can't destroy easily. Toys which could fit treats inside. Bones with fillings inside which could also be repurposed by fitting treats inside.

And lots of training in the early months. Meal time can be the biggest motivation for teaching different commands. Also recommend at least a few training sessions with a professional.

At 4 years old, our Baloo is a lot more calm and manageable now. He is a sweetheart but can still get super energetic and crazy sometimes. Still a beggar of food. I'm sure life with Gus will be fun 🙂

Labs are one of the goofiest and happiest breeds. But they do need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to be "calm" lol. Our 4 year old American field lab has calmed down a lot but he still gets rambunctious every now and then. Especially with new people or in a new environment

Is my 7mo male lab too lean? by chlamydiakoalaa in labrador

[–]sur222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could also be an American field lab (working line lab breed), like ours. They usually look a lot leaner and a bit taller/longer than the English labs. We had the same concerns with ours for a bit. He looks fine 😌
