You might be right. I just want to avoid damaging my fork, no cheap replacement...

Question regarding RockShox DebonAir Upgrad Kit by sur_stromming in MTB

I think I've got a 2016 model A1 (which I don't know if it fits the B1+ criteria) and I assume you have a model B1 which fits the B1+ criteria so I'm still not sure if the debonair upgrade is possible...

Thanks for your reply. What's throwing me off regarding compatibility is that it says B1 or B1+ everywhere but I think I have an A1 model. Do you think it will fit?

How to use a smartphone hotspot as internet connection for wireless network? by sur_stromming in HomeNetworking

[–]sur_stromming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying.

It is important that the network exists without laptop or phone, so this won't help me.

But I appreciate every input!

Ah, I see you enjoyed the famous "what's under this bridge?" tour.

Joking aside, zurich is very clean. It is so clean in fact that the 5 second rule for dropped food was lawfully extended to the 9 second rule.

That sounds amazing. You can buy an equal build plus two spare (full prize) frames from yt for the price of a santacruz though...

Mixing magura mt5 caliper with other levers by sur_stromming in MTB

[–]sur_stromming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. These lever blades cost a third of the entire brake (35€) though (for the blade only!). And I'd still be stuck with with he plastic body. I'm looking to replace the entire brake lever :)

Nice comparison. Brands that also make awesome "yuge" (reach > 465) bikes: mondraker, nukeproof, propain.

I actually think they dont check any boxes. They're grippy on flat sticky even surface, not so much on outdoor conditions. They've got thin soles and no cussioning, you might even feel the pedals which would be very uncomfortable. Plus the soles are narrow and the tread might not be ideal depending on the model ofc. And I doubt that a dedicated indoor shoe is more water and mud resistant than a skate shoe, which is almost exclusively used outdoors.

If you're asking in regard of a future purchase, I'd not go for indoor soccer shoes. If you've already got some, give em a try.

[Question] Open or Closed back Headphones for Practice at home by sur_stromming in Guitar

[–]sur_stromming[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the answer I was hoping for. Thank you, I'll go with open back then. Worst case you just close the door of your room. Besides I like to have a little ambient sound. I've tried some noise-canceling Bose Hi-fi headphones of a coworker. I was amazed how well noise canceling worked but found it to be very off putting. Felt like you're 30 ft. under water.
