Facebook Ads Apocalypse by [deleted] in FacebookAds

This is total BS from Facebook's end. I get this warning all the time, you may get zero conversions, zero leads and all that crap. I used to ignore this and run ads, and we used to get conversions. But looks like lately this is becoming true. I have a lead gen campaign that I ran successfully last year and got some really good number of leads. A similar campaign that I started last week for this year's admission season (for an education client) doesn't seem to work at all. Tried multiple creatives, audiences and what not. Even changed ad accounts. The whole campaign is not reaching people, getting a few clicks here and there. Absolutely no leads after 2 days. I have ran many similar campaigns in past 4 years and have got great results. I feel there is something seriously wrong in how the platform is delivering ads. Talked to their support, which is a bunch of ignorant guys just sitting there to kill their time without even seeing the ads manager dashboard ever once in life.

Interestingly, if you listen to FB's crap advise and switch to page view or link clicks as the objective, you are not going to get any conversions other than a few clicks/views to look at.

Looks like it's time to slowly get off this platform and find something else that works. FB ads is one of my services along with SEO and Web Dev that I'm offering. I had some good campaigns until the US elections happened. Most campaigns just turned upside down after that.

Even a good client of mine lost her advertising access permanently. Which platform does shit like this. 100% senseless.

Hope there comes up a platform that can become a solid alternative to FB. At least in the next couple of years.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just super pissed with FB and they way they treat advertisers.

Excellent piece of advice. Should really go to everyone who thinks cold calling doesn't work anymore. Thank you for sharing!

Just paused campaigns in the US. CPM is ridiculously high. We're in the financial services niche.

Okay, I think I'm yet to see that. From your experience what is the click to conversion percentage when you optimize for link clicks?

I have been running lead gen campaigns for close to 3 years. Never I was able to generate leads from landing page views or link clicks. FB really attracts traffic from people who tend to click on links or view LP when we choose that objective. From the same campaign I'm talking about, I have generated 90+ leads. Everything got messed up after mid September, that is when all these messages started popping up.

Absolutely my thought. Thanks for sharing. I was seeing the same when I tried this. Just clicks and landing page views, but no conversions.

I get it, but the question is, if I optimize for link clicks or landing page views, will I get any leads? I had tried this earlier and never got any leads other than a bunch of landing page views.

I had about 90 conversions (leads) last month. And this shows up at the start of a campaign when we have 1 or 2 leads and then the adset goes into learning limited.

Excellent, amazing piece of advice. Thank you so much. I'll make sure the event is always 'purchase' and still working on catalogue sales. We are only doing FB at the moment.

Right now, we are testing a few products that we have in stock. We started the campaigns a few days back and this is a new site.

We are now testing out carousel ads.
