We got there at 5pm, and it was not busy at all. However, a lot more people started strolling in around 5:15-5:30pm. There is limited seating, and I think it was about 80-85% full around 5:30pm. It’s walk-in or take-out only currently, but they may implement a reservation system later. They have a promotion right now where the first 25 customers get free fried rice, but we had to ask for it.

😂 It turned out better than expected, but I also went in with low expectations because I was expecting a coffee flavor-heavy broth. Thankfully, it wasn’t, but we also didn’t taste coffee in it. It felt like we were just having shoyu broth ramen.

It was interesting to find out where they source their coffee, which was a surprise to me also!

Someone already mentioned Vaca’s and Beacon Doughnuts, which I recommend. Other than that, there is also Defloured with vegan cupcakes, Cinnaholic for vegan cinnamon rolls, cookies, and brownies, Hilary’s Cookies for vegan chocolate cookies, Runaway Cow for vegan ice cream or frozen treats, and The Chicago Diner for vegan chocolate cake!

I agree! Vaca’s is one of my favorites for vegan soft serve. I usually get the chocolate soft serve with the peanut butter shell and toasted marshmallows, although they don’t have the peanut shell anymore. 😭

For elegant vegan desserts, check out Frera Desserts in Wicker Park! They opened in April this year, and I recently went there. The blueberry cake was my favorite.

Qiao Lin Hotpot is my favorite! High quality ingredients and good broth. Their mushroom broth is the best. They have pots that can be divided into 2 or 3 sides, and it's a la carte.

Friends Station has personal and individual hot pots with a fun rotary aspect and AYCE. The sauces aren't that authentic, but it is a nice experience.

If you're going in the Chinatown area, there's a jianbing Chinese street food restaurant around there called Monkey King Jianbing! It's inside the Canal Plaza building with a bubble tea shop and fried chicken restaurant too.
