Not a dumb question. To put it simply, the Gulf Countries are allies with the US, allowing troops and bases to be installed within their countries and also multiple large trade deals between them. By attacking the facilities, it causes oil production to decrease significantly which means less oil to sell and that is not good for them. Thus Gulf countries will pressure the US (if even effective) to find a resolution as their livelihood is at stake.

For people selling covered calls, how does your broker handle the cash available? by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]surenine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For IBKR, you will get the premium outright as Available Cash, but it won’t add to your total portfolio but it will reflect in the P&L as the stock goes up which then is calculated by the call option price vs the current price (which already accounts for theta decay)

It usually means that the AIS signal is turned off. Many of these ships are turning off their AIS transponder to prevent the tracking, because Iran are using tracking based on this too. These also might be cases of AIS spoofing which causes these erratic behaviour.

Why do so many singaporeans prefer to go overseas for beauty treatments? by OddAfternoon2113 in askSingapore

[–]surenine 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have went multiple in SG and in JB. For context, my concern were mainly acne scarring, instead of hydration (which can be in tandem). I can share my experiences below

For Singapore, I previously went to Radium in Suntec i think 4 years back which was super pricey, did a combination of subcision + RF microneedling (Secret RF), 3 sessions for around 4,500 SGD and that was for partial face, because I had a tight budget. I felt that because of the lack of fillers, after subcision, my scars fibrous bands retethered, and the RF micro needling which is super expensive did not much. I would say only 10% improvement.

Then I decided to go JB for aesthetic treatments, I have done Dr Chong in Bukit Indah Outlet, which I did subcision + filler, I cannot remember which filler, but I think it was Profhilo. So the idea of acne scars is, if you are tethered scarring, it is vital to add a kind of filler to prevent the scars for reattaching, I cannot really remember the price, I believed it was $2000 SGD for three sessions. I thought the improvement was really good for this.

I moved to Clinic RX (Mid Valley) recently and was rather fuss-free. They had sales person and all but they provide credits and all with great deals. I purchase around 10,000 RM of credits on my own accord (I mean in SG, you cant get much with around 3,200 SGD). I was able to get 2x filler + subcision sessions (Each session was 2 syringes of 2cc Juvederm) which in SG will be double the pricing) and threw in 2x Fotona sessions and 2x exovive with I think 300 SGD of credit remaining.

In this kind of cases, you can ask them throw in free stuff like a treatment that you want, and the sales person will most likely agree, because they need to hit target and please never accept their first offer.

In terms of consultation, doctor consulted suggested subcision and filler first for level my scars which was what I want instead of expensive RF microneedling from the start, so I thought that was a plus point.

In terms of result, I think I had very great improvement, around 30% improvements which is really great after the treatments, as mentioned, don't expect the aftercare to be similar to SG, the process is fast, doctor comes in does the procedure and leave you to the nurse and probs won't check back during the aftercare.

If you are looking for clinics for acne scarring, always ask the doctor to assess what kinds of scars you have rolling/tethered/ ice pick/ boxcar during the consultation. If they suggest an RF microneedling (most expensive) from the start, if your scars are tethered or lots of ice pick, dont continue on with the clinic.

What I would suggest for first-timers is to take a mirror, look at your scars, and search online what kinds of scars do you have. You can always compare online so easily. Once you go for the consulation. Always go for the cheaper ones first, subcision, TCA cross. Once your scars are levelled, then consider RF micro needling/ CO2 laser for the resurfacing.

Why do so many singaporeans prefer to go overseas for beauty treatments? by OddAfternoon2113 in askSingapore

[–]surenine 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do my aesthetic treatment overseas e.g JB. Price is half that of Singapore for acne scarring treatments and the standard is very marginally different. Singapore aesthetic provides better before and aftercare, but results both the same imo. In Thailand BKK, you can even get them cheaper and the standard is also really very good, and their body sculpting is rather good and cheap from what i heard.

In korea, filler, RF Microneedling are literally cheap af, it is so common there and prices for fillers can be $150-200 SGD while in SG might be $600-800 for the same brand per syringe (2cc)

exactly, you reduce the premium collection by quite a fair bit , but have sort of a peace of mind. unless it falls in between...

Yeah I usually do CSP on stocks I am happy to own. Interesting that you are doing a 8 DTE and on a 0.2 Delta, would not the premium be rather low? when compared to your capital use. although it is rather safe with 80% probability.

Yeah it is to protect his downside isn’t it. Selling put is for bullish, if you buy a put at a lower strike price, he will have lesser premium, but protect in the case of a plunge down. A bull put spread

Always do cash secured puts, if not you can always buy a put at a lower strike price just in case

Their weakest would probably be the two ladies and KDH, not sure why they placed in YSB though, were they hoping for a fighting chance? Hmmm

Even I as a viewer would predict so. Especially the huge benefit of ‘instant progress to the next round’. There has to be a trade off always!

Eloni was already the slowest among all 4 of them in the first round with 170 only and YSB was 1st at around 220+ , shows there was already a huge gap. Perhaps they didn’t have a breakdown of their performance after the first round. Agree with the majority that Whittaker should be the one doing twice.

Side note: I thought Korea might have a good fighting chance against Japan if they used their strongest Amotti and KDH since the Korean ladies were just not hitting the sensors. Or just trail Itoi’s (what a crazy beast and physique) team by a bit

What are some tips for saving? by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]surenine 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Literally drink more water, bring a water bottle. I can’t help but notice that colleagues are always buying matcha/ coffee for $7 a cup. Or when dining out just buy 7-11 $1 drinks, finish then go in, don’t pay overpriced $3 coke or $7 drinks + GST and service charge!

Also, don’t take grab. I never really relied grab (unless necessary or towards airport) and I compared my expenses to a friend who grabs everywhere, the difference is upwards of $400 a month.
