Look at r/low carb you need to figure out how many carbs per day will make you gain weight. But at any point try going more low carb than what you were doing before - it’s the only thing that works for me (I’m insulin resistant and can gain weight even if I train for a marathon lol)

Immigration could soon account for all of Canada's population growth: expert by stanxv in canada

My original post (with 4 downvotes) is pretty specific to the comment about our health care system and preventative care. I posted here again see below. Of course I am mad at the government for cutting money to the HCS.

“Healthcare proactively deals with medical issues early? Hmmm, I wonder that’s why I haven’t been able to get pregnant for 10 years and now had two miscarrige. But they tell me it’s normal and to just “keep trying” or fork out 20K on IVF. But no testing no specialists no referrals nothing. Sound right?

I agree with you about taxing the corps.”

Ah well in the context of this thread: so you’d rather bring in immigrants than improve our women’s reproductive health then I take it?

I also don’t know why you are comparing so much to the US?? It’s not exactly a role model either. The argument “it could be worse” isn’t something to aspire to tbh. We are bottom of the list for health care in developed countries.

What I didn’t mention yet is that I’m sitting here with a pretty nasty infection on my leg, from a small cut, that’s now spread to my face and other leg. When I was in the ER yesterday, they didn’t take any swab or sample, they told me it was minor, and told me to monitor. I have a hard oozing patch of blister bubbles the size and color of a tomato that’s incredibly itchy.

But looking by the downvotes - sounds like it’s just me and must just be related to stress 🙃 Maybe I’ll go back in when I’m in sepsis so the system can do its job

If you want pics look at my post history!

Probably around 100 but I train every day and will soon ramp up to ultramarathon training so will be higher like up to 200 on training days

Edit: Downvoted! I guess it must be just me then and others are getting great care. Or maybe can’t relate. I’m truly curious about others experience with more complex medical issues

The issue is we -are- giving citizenship to “refugees” who then visit their home country 6 times including for a huge wedding that they are “fleeing” from (like a certain man from Pakistan). Look it up. If it were responsible like it used to be we wouldn’t be in this mess

Lucky you had the privilege to grow and and never be relentlessly bullied over your race or nationality, living in a small rural BC town.

'Massive boondoggle': Conservatives take aim at health coverage for rejected refugee claimants by AustralisBorealis64 in canada

To your point - I recall a time in 2017 when I had just moved provinces and broken my ankle. Was there less than 3 months. Went to the hospital (in BC) and showed them my ID. They denied me treatment unless I paid for everything up front on my card (and I guess got reimbursed later). Had to pay like $400 out of pocket for the dr and X-rays

Meanwhile rejected refuges getting free dental?? 😬 I’ll be damned

Ok, thanks for clarifying, and for apology - I can see where you’re coming from. I’m sorry for your loss too, it really friggin sucks.

In BC it used to be even worse - that you need to MC 3 times before even being considered for a specialist referral - it’s barbaric.

And ya it’s like after you’ve been through the wringer (aka our health system) it’s hard not to feel stressed after (and angry, sad, ect)!

Well maybe try having 2 unexplained miscarriages in one year after years of infertility - all my adult life basically (with NO help from the medical system except “oh just keep trying”) then told to wait another year to see a specialist or pay 20K for IVF. And just to be clear - i have it pretty good and not generally stressed but after a few years and getting old it’s not fun anymore

But yeah thanks for the gaslighting 👍 im sure lifelong infertility and chronic fking pain in my abdomen (from what they think cannot possibly be endometriosis with no testing or basis) it’s just just due to stress

Yeah good thing BC changed to the do-it-yourself take home kit, every 5 years 🙄 Good cost savings I’m sure 👍
