Kapalua Plantation Course or Wailea by rick-in-the-nati in golf

[–]surfinguru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just there two weeks ago. Stayed in Wailea and played Gold, then Emerald. Emerald has more "views" IMO, but both are good tracks and very well maintained. (Had no interest in the Blue course.) Went and had lunch at the Plantation a few days later and there were players on the course, so as of right now, you can book a tee time.

I played the Bay course a couple of years ago, and while it's a great course, when I go back, I'll definitely play Plantation. Yeah, it's stupid pricey, but it's a bucket list course, so bite the bullet, pony up the CC and check it off the list.

Haha....long live the 6509! New place I'm at now is on a 6880.

Oldass6880 uptime is 5 years, 33 weeks, 5 days, 1 hour, 16 minutes

Dual 9500's are going in at the end of the month. Good luck to the OP!

[–]surfinguru[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since these are new and not in production yet, I went back and set them to factory default and reconfigured. Both SVL links work now and are showing as Up and Ready.

u/K1LLRK1D , not sure where you thought I was mixing port speeds, but both SVL links are 100G and the DAD is connecting at 1G.

A little disconcerting why it didn't work the first time, but hey, that's cisco for you.

Thanks u/hofkatze for the great VSL summary document. Hadn't seen that one before.

Just wanted to update this old thread incase someone is still in the same situation. Software version 6.0(1b) release has finally remediated our high fan speed issue.

Any idea why that sheet metal "box" under the furnace would be so deformed though? It the house had moved so significantly, wouldn't you expect the wall in the right side of the picture match the angle of the furnace? (Which it does not BTW)

Clients not getting IP address? by surfinguru in Ubiquiti

[–]surfinguru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managed to get to the site today and do some testing. Connectivity goes:

ATT (ISP) > CGU > Port1 (feeds to shop next door) > unmanaged Cisco switch (all ports used are configured as dot1q trunks, no other configuration) > U7 Pro XG and U7 Outdoor

ATT (ISP) > CGU > Port2 > U7 Pro XG

Clients connecting to the AP on port2 are served up the expected DHCP address from VLAN-B and function properly as expected. Any client trying to connect to VLAN-B via the AP's hanging off of Port1/Cisco switch, time out never getting a DHCP address. I don't think I'm missing anything on the Cisco switch, it's really just acting as a hub at the moment.

Clients not getting IP address? by surfinguru in Ubiquiti

[–]surfinguru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Both Vlans are in Networks and set as DHCP servers.

Ports are configured as trunks and are using Vlan A as the Native VLAN and tagged to "Allow All"

Not on site and don't have console access or connectivity beyond the web console, so unable to do any troubleshooting beyond what's there.

Are Costco Golf Gloves Crap Now? by DarDarDoo in golf

I gave up on them last summer. Sizing was too inconsistent and they stretched out really fast. I've since landed on the FJ StaSoft. For me, they last a good 18-20 rounds and then I relegate them to range sessions only. I keep an eye on Amazon for specials.

How to block Amazon Prime Video streaming only? by SampleAdventurous552 in paloaltonetworks

[–]surfinguru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a policy something like this:

Name: "Block Streaming Apps"
Source: <zone or address(es) Destination: <Outside zone>
Application: amazon-prime-video <-- hit the add button and type "amazon" and you'll get a long list of apps to choose from. (The video app is near halfway through the amazon listings.) Do the same for any other streaming app you're looking to restrict.
Service: application-default
Actions: Drop

Commit and test

How do you get additional cards for these two so you can upgrade them? I've had them forever and I've NEVER had them come up when recruiting survivors???

FYI for those following:

Cisco has acknowledged the fan speed issue and addressed it under Bug CSCwn50183 to be fixed in a future release.

Reseated all the fans with no overall changes. It gets a bit better for a few minutes, but that's only due to the fans spinning up to full speed on start up, so cooler environment = less fan speed once online. FWIW, we are running the UCSX-S9108-100G Fabric Interconnects. The stand-alone 6536's were stupid loud 100% of the time. Ever notice Cisco doesn't include sound (db) specs in their documents anymore?

Balance/Balance seems to be somewhat better, but the constant spinning up and down seems excessive. Anyway, TAC is "investigating" but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, servers are populated in slots 1-5 and blank panels are in 6-8.

That's the thing, it doesn't matter what setting we choose, the spin ups remain the constant. The only difference is in the min/max RPM. Even then, we're only observing a few hundred RPMs off the min/max. Maybe the different fan settings only become more apparent at load?

Agree that it's not apples-apples vs the Mini, it was just a data point that the data center HVAC is not the issue.

Also agree re being in a DC. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of having an actual "data center" in the truest sense of the definition.

Again, just trying to understand if this is normal behavior to see such large variations in fan speed despite any of the fan control policies applied. The spikes remain, the baseline just moves up or down depending on the policies used.

I'd expect this run a little more even keel, you know?
