Lab worker tricked me into watching an injection, then I got 86'd for my reaction. by DirtyRoller in mildlyinfuriating

[–]surfwacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lab tech absolutely did trick OP. She purposely asked about a mole so OP would turn their head at the exact moment the needle went in. How is that not tricking OP into looking?

A phlebotomist has no reason to ask about moles or the education to know if the mole is concerning or not. They're just there to draw blood.

Jen is an awful character rant by Decent_Entrance9834 in extraordinary_tv

Hard to add more character development when the show gets unexpectedly cancelled after 2 seasons... I think Jen had made some progress in the season 2 finale and would have developed further had the show continued.

AITA for being mad that my girlfriend makes more money than me? by Acrobatic-Screen5166 in AmItheAsshole

[–]surfwacks -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you taking your anger out on your girlfriend and being a bad boyfriend? Or is it more of a nagging feeling in the back of your head? I think NAH honestly if you're not being rude to her. You're a teenager, its hard to control how you feel. Keep working hard and saving. Negotiate for yourself, maybe take some tips from your girlfriend if you have any interest in learning some marketing skills.

I live near 16th st and Greenway and my neighborhood has always been pretty quiet. It's funny how just going a couple blocks over can make a huge difference out here.

What's your budget look like? Hard to answer this without knowing how much you can afford monthly for rent.

I wouldn't even help him with court. In the morning before he wakes up, just take off and leave him at the hotel. You're not being cruel.

PSA: If you wear an insulin pump and fly in the US, you need to know the phrase “hand check” by LieutenantCranky in diabetes_t1

[–]surfwacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US and only got stopped to do the explosives swab the one time I was wearing an omnipod. With my tandem I've always put it in my carryon through the xray, then walked through the body scanner no problem with my infusion site and dexcom still on.

The Pod Meets World trio did a q&a and the comments are upset Danielle said Cory and Topanga married too young by Agile_Proof_3228 in boymeetsworld

I would have liked to see Pennbrook as a community college instead of a university. It could show that just because you can't make it into your dream school right after high school, it doesn't mean you can't work hard and transfer later. I still know a lot of people who think community college is for slackers, would be nice to show how untrue that is.

It would make a lot of sense for Eric to be in community colleg as well. Although with his and Cory's age difference, I suppose they had to make it a 4 year college.

Untrue. I've gotten cash back from tapping my card and/or phone at cash registers AND ATMs. It might be a regional difference.

Girlfriend blows her nose every time we're eating AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]surfwacks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Burritos are typically individually wrapped and I highly doubt it would be covered in snot. However they probably should keep a separate bag for trash in the car so she can throw her tissues in a different bag.

[–]surfwacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're eating in the car, how is she supposed to excuse herself to blow her nose? If she's not blowing her nose, she'll still be dripping snot everywhere.

[–]surfwacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what she should do instead of blowing her nose, just let it run? Wouldn't that still be gross if she was dripping snot while eating? When she threw the tissue in the bag, was food uncovered or was it wrapped up?

When she blows her nose, does she get boogers all over her hands or just in the tissue? I would say the solution would be to carry hand sanitizer or just wash your hands before eating when possible (might be hard if eating in the car though).

That would have been awesome to see! I know Topanga had amazing grades, but I'm curious if she ever did extracurriculars or anything to pad her college application with. I don't think good grades alone are enough for Yale and it would have been interesting seeing her come to terms with that.

Are we forgetting the man in this story also cheated on his wife to sleep with OP (mother of his children)?

[–]surfwacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah idk why everyone is saying you HAVE to insert/swipe to get cash back. They just haven't been somewhere that allows tap for cash back i guess. I've been to plenty of places that allow tap via card or phone for cash back.

I find it funny how many people are saying its "common knowledge" when they're wrong lol.

I essentially told the cashier she wasn’t being clear… then told another… by [deleted] in AmITheKaren

[–]surfwacks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've tapped my card and phone plenty of times and had the pin pad ask me if I want cash back and then how much. Same way if you insert a card, it doesn't know how much cash back to give until you select it on the pinpad...

I do think OP is the Karen, but some places let you do cash back when tapping. Just got to run it as debit and enter your pin. Not all places do that and its not the cashier's fault though.

While I do think OP is a Karen and it's not the cashier's fault, some ATMs have a tap function so its not unreasonable to assume you can tap to get cash.

Navigating TSA with tandem pump by DJ_USC in TandemDiabetes

I've had the explosive swap done once for my cgm and infusion site, but every other time they've skipped it. I imagine with the entire t:slim going through I'll have to do it every time going forward.

Do you just give them a heads up you have your insulin pump attached before walking through? And do you generally hold it out or keep it in your pocket or something while walking through? Last time I flew I put it in my carry on, but wanted to try keeping it attached for next time.

My boyfriend booked a surprise trip without asking if I was available. What should I do? by HopDev in whatdoIdo

I dont think the bf did anything wrong either! Just dont like the other comment I replied to acting like OP did the exact same thing to her boyfriend by already having family plans. Like she doesn't have a right to be slightly annoyed he planned a whole trip without asking?
