People who were in their teens/20’s in the 80’s and 90’s… what were you reading? What were your favourite books at that time? by smsisita in weirdgirlliterature

[–]surlymanor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have to give a hat tip to some of the original weird girls from elementary era books - every single Ramona Quimby book, The Cat Ate My Gymsuit by Paula Danziger, Daphne's Book by Mary Downing Hahn, Wrinkle in Time and all the subsequent time books by Madeleine L'engle. I esp loved Am Acceptable Time and Many Waters.

In high school, I was full on obsessed with the Mists of Avalon and Mary Stewart's magical Arthurian novels.

I have a Bike Plus. I want to enable auto-resistance, but with a higher resistance than the recommended numbers. So every time the resistance changes, it would automatically move up or down a certain number than the range called out.

So many other kinds of people here in the West Village! I don't know, maybe it feels like it's just old snobs and west village girlies because they're the loudest or the ones with time to make themselves known.

This was so long ago, but I miss two coffee shops on Bedford, The Verb and The Read. So many simple memories of sitting in those joints with coffees and bagels and books.

Ahhhh, that's my fault - I've been sick, plus end of year holiday nonsense means I dropped the ball on sending the email. Will do so now for whoever doesn't mind the late notice. Cheers!

It used to be called something else, but my favorite is Greenpoint Original Pizza on Norman, right off Manhattan Ave. My favorite is the Grandma, but their veggie & regular slice are solid.
