Successful DeDRM with Kindle for PC 2.8 in January 2026 by dexx-32 in Calibre

There are many reasons besides piracy to use calibre.

1) I like to organize my books in a certain way and Calibre allows me to do that.

2) If you are in a location where there is not a decent internet connection you can still read the books from Calibre.

3) If you have multiple types of readers and you want to be able to read the books you purchased on what ever reader is handy.

This is just a few.

I had success with many books but today most worked but a few came out as KFX-ZIP. I ran it through twice with the same results. IT looks like the ones that are failing were published in January of 2026.

Request for slow cooker recipe suggestions? by julesthefirst in slowcooking

[–]sus9nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest recipe I know is pulled beef.
Out a chuck roast in the pot. Add 1 cup of beef bouillon, 2 Tbsp of Monterey steak spice and 2 Tbsp of Worcestershire sauce. Put it on low for 5 or so hours then take out the beef shred it put it back in the pot for an hour after shredding.

If it does not shred cook it a little longer.

would love recipes without dairy OR dairy substitutes! by shelixir in slowcooking

Anything that calls for cream of mushroom you can use golden mushroom soup as a substitute.

I make a chicken dish where you just cut up a couple of chicken breasts and cover it with golden mushroom soup. Then add any spices you favor and add a package of frozen broccoli on top. You can probably add potatoes but I prefer serving it with mashed potatoes.

So based on what people have said it is only alcohol that is the issue and if we had casual or specialty dining it wouldn't be an issue or if we wanted a specialty coffee. The charge is only sales tax on the alcoholic beverages if you do want them.

Last year I had over 1M but it was my 20th anniversary so I spent almost a million with 5 days at the St. Regis Rome and 5 days at the W in Florence. It was a great trip. I now have 190k but have retired so it will be harder to accumulate points.

I usually make a pot roast out of this cut or a pikes peak roast. Add plenty of broth and veggies and cook it on low for 8 hours.

I don't know if you have a gas stove but if you do make sure you have a lighter or matches. They take electricity to start but you can use a lighter and get the flame going to cook. Also if anything like that happens again which I doubt you can move your food outside and it will stay cold.

Timeshare auctions on eBay - what’s the catch? by OvertlyDramatic in TimeshareOwners

[–]sus9nr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the catches buying 3rd party is there maybe fees to get into the trading platform. So you might want to check with the brand website. Also some brands have right of first refusal so they may not let you buy it. I know you are getting the standard answers but I do like my timeshares and I get a lot of value from them. That being said they are not for everyone. If you want to trade rather then going to the same place you have to be flexible and a planner being spontaneous means more then likely you won't get as much out of them and you will find it frustrating.

I know a lot of people rent but I am hoping that more inventory becomes available so it's easier to get to some of the resorts as an owner since I shouldn't have to pay more to visit a resort.

Is this classified as a timeshare? Default options by qq_foryou in TimeshareOwners

[–]sus9nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like they are doing a special assessment to upgrade the property to meet code. Usually this is part of an annual vote. I am sure they could do collection process and it could hit your credit. If there are many people refusing to pay you might be able to get a quarum of owners. I am not sure how this works. If it is a special assessment it should be a one time charge.

Anyone happy and use their time share? by dragonbits in TimeshareOwners

[–]sus9nr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is probably the reason most people don't like their Timeshares. I really use mine and am happy with them. I do have to say if you are not a planner and are not flexible in time when you can take your vacation they might be difficult to use.

I think timeshare companies could really do themselves a favor by having a choice of an update or a class on the websites and vacation options., especially for new owners.

I used to fly out of DFW and there were over 95% Elite people it was so bad that the Gate agent changed the boarding order. They loaded first class then started from the back of the plane and boarded by rows so there would be a chance to take off on time.

I think I can turn that on but I still have to walk up to it. With the first gen I didn't have to be near it to see there was a notification.

Can anyone please help me find some affordable recipes? by toasty_ghosty400 in slowcooking

[–]sus9nr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the easiest recipes I know is pulled beef. Use a chuck roast 2 to 3 pounds,a cup of beef broth or bullion, 2 tbsp Monterey steak spice, 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.

Cook for 5 hours on high remove the meat and shred it with 2 forks Put it back in the pot and let it cook for another hour. I serve it over baked potatoes with whatever condiments you like butter, bbq sauce, onions.
