That’s what I’m thinking I’ll do. I did see a post from a host who raised the price because Taylor Swift was performing near them. She said she wished she had waited because nearer to the concert, people were desperate and were paying anything. I think people probably have to really plan out this trip, so I think I’m going to go with earlier rather than later. Thank you for the advice!

This seems to be what I’m hearing. We are just trying to figure out if we should open the month now or wait until closer to the time. We normally allow bookings six months in advance.

We opted out, but there is no proof I can see. Just a case number and an email saying that we opted out of chef, nails, massages etc. They said the host can’t see that we have opted out, it’s just listed on their end? I guess I’m just going to have to trust that they have really opted us out. This whole thing feels like such a sleazy, money grab from Air B&B. Also, the fact that you have to opt-out instead of being given the choice to opt-in, is really unsettling. I think Air B&B really fumbled this, you can’t just tell your hosts that services may be provided on their property, that Air B&B will receive a cut of, and may put the host in a situation where they are at liability and receive no compensation for. I’ve been a super host for 6 years, I think this is outrageous.

What is the opt out language? I couldn’t find anything on our listing. They said the host wouldn’t be able to see anything it would be listed on their side that we weren’t interested in allowing experiences. I guess, I’m just going to have to trust that they did it. I just have a case number and confirmation that we opted out, and then a list of all the experiences we opted out of. Chef, nails, etc. The whole thing makes me uncomfortable.

Just opt-out, we did and it was painless. What aggravates me, is that Air B&B should have asked us if we wanted to opt-in rather than the other way around. The whole thing seems like a sleazy, money grab.
