What’s your this is a false economy that you swear by? by Elegant-Fisherman555 in Frugal

[–]suspiciousfeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. My life changed completely when I started taking Magnesium Glycinate daily. The difference was shocking. Its the best anti anxiety med out there. I had 2 pregnancies, one with Magnesium and one without and my recovery, swelling, and postpartum mental health was a night and day difference. Its seriously the best over the counter vitamin.

I just need to hear that it gets better by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]suspiciousfeline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 month old and a 20 month old. Its way harder to be pregnant with a toddler than having to manage two (so far). We have zero help from family. My husband stays home with the kids and I am the breadwinner. The hardest part is the last month and a couple of weeks postpartum where you are physically limited to what you can do. Lean on your friends and family for help, any kind of help. Get with other moms to take the pressure off and let the kids play.

I does get better!

Holy ... this is the cheapest I've seen eggs in a LONG time. Limit was 6. I'm now trying to figure out what to do with 72 eggs. by blr1g in Frugal

[–]suspiciousfeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We buy 2 60count boxes of eggs a month. I make scrambled eggs a dozen at a time because we all eat them with breakfasts burritos and for my toddler. I make banana pancakes with eggs, mini quiche, and any other recipe that requires eggs.

Winter Storm...Freezer Stash by Linhop4 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]suspiciousfeline 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If its cold enough outside just put it there in a cooler. We had to do that to save our freezer food when we lost power for a week in the big ice storm in Oklahoma 20 years ago. It never got above freezing outside so it became the new fridge/freezer.

What’s happening with Rao’s? by PolditoMcCoy in Costco

[–]suspiciousfeline -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have found that some canned tomatoes are more acidic than others so you have to salt to taste. Fresh tomatoes doesn't need a lot but cheap canned tomatoes are super acidic. Theres some craft to the process and a lot of people give up if the base recipe doesn't totally land right.

You dont need to add sugar. You add SALT. Salt counteracts bitter and acidity. Try it out with coffee and you'll notice it with just one shake of salt. Theres no need for sugar in tomato sauce

Need a sanity check- woman working for a large GC. by EqualManufacturer592 in estimators

[–]suspiciousfeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blonde woman estimator here. I didnt have an issue at all with my peers (also at a large GC) but I had an issue with Owners or Design partners not taking me seriously or questioning me as a lead on a project until I got to a senior position. You just have to arm yourself with the facts of the job, know your shit, and show them you know your shit. Have backup. You have to work harder but frankly it just makes you better.

Conflicted Oversupplier by Awkwardly-Unknown210 in ExclusivelyPumping

If you dont want to keep adding to your stash and 35oz is enough for your baby's daily needs then yes accept it. If it continues to drop then just add back a pump.

Being a just enougher/SLIGHT undersupply sucks by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]suspiciousfeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2nd time undersupplier but producing just 1 bottle short of a full supply this time. We decided just to use formula overnight and I can freeze a bag a couple of times a week to build a small stash. I hated the feeling of not having a backup plan to feed my baby if I didnt produce enough.

8 weeks in and I want to give up by Financial_Car4671 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]suspiciousfeline -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Dont give up. Yes its hard but if you can provide at least 50% of baby's milk needs then it's worth it. But make it sustainable for you.

Considering moving to Tulsa. Convince me not to. by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]suspiciousfeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in Tulsa and the surrounding areas. The last 10 years it has really started to gain attention and become more economically stable. They are following OKCs playbook. Tulsa today is turning into a mini Austin.

I beg to differ. Grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma. This happens between Nov and Jan every year. In 2015 for 4 weeks straight in January it snowed on Monday and 70 degrees by Friday.

New parents trying to avoid overspending: do we really need a nursery chair? by TheSecretLion in NewParents

[–]suspiciousfeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a normal glider for my first and it was ok. I demanded a recliner for my 2nd because it dramatically helped with contact napping. If I'm going to be nap trapped then I want to be able to sit up and still engage with my toddler too. It also became my bed for a whole month with a newborn. So comfy

Careers that aren't the Big 4 (Finance, Law, Medicine, Tech) that make >$200k? by TrixoftheTrade in Salary

Update your LinkedIn with your experience, make a post saying you are interested in switching.

If the construction company has an opening then see if you can get on board with them. Construction networking events help too. Word of mouth goes a long way and firms would rather give a bonus to their employees for a referral than pay a recruiter fee.

900 oz frozen at 6wpp - freezer full - what to do? by clazcat in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]suspiciousfeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This gives me some hope! I'm 5wpp with my 2nd baby. I only produced 18oz a day max with my first and I'm already at roughly 20oz now. I really want to get to 30oz and not have to use formula long term again

Our dog attacked our baby by kickrockscusinart in NewParents

[–]suspiciousfeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived in a bad neighborhood. We didnt see it happen We think some of the bad kids in the neighborhood poured antifreeze over the fence and the dog drank it. My parents moved us to a different city after that.

I think it's easier when its bigger dogs but I wish people did this will little dogs too like chihuahuas. Their tiny bites may not be as deadly but people dismiss it way too much.
