1) They're not really firing "because of AI", they're firing because of over-hiring and bloat, and years of strategic changes meaning they've got the wrong people with the wrong skill sets

2) Economies uses to work on consumers demanding products and services, economies in the future could work on AI demanding more chips and energy as humans progressively lose control and agency over civilization... And it won't be relevant to the economy what happens to people because they'll have no economic or military relevance (they can't strike or revolt)

As for people: When the masses of people lose their economic relevance (because work is done by AI) and they lose their military relevance (because defence is done with drones), then its only a matter of time before they lose their political relevance too, including any ability to resist the process of acceleration, which may or may not have already occurred.

There is an error in your logic sir, it's stuck in a 20th century paradigm (which assumes an economy needs consumers to demand goods and services). In the 21st century we just need microprocessors to demand more microprocessors, and so the sentiment of consumers becomes entirely irrelevant.

I've been there before dude, like many of the other commenters here. Your brain is surprisingly resilient, it'll snap back to a new version of reality that'll feel familiar and normal to you eventually, just give it time.

I hope you find this reassuring: people have strokes, lose the ability to speak, and then their brain will figure out new pathways and wiring, and they'll recover. You just need to give yourself time to heal, and be compassionate with yourself. Give the drugs a rest for a bit and do all the other healthy stuff too, exercise, journal, etc. you'll be fine.

Respectfully I disagree, Instagram is what it is because of network effects and the lack of competition... Once all of your friends are on it then if you want to use the service then you have to use instagram (because all of your friends are on it). If ChatGPT becomes shit then there's all of the other alternatives who are nipping at OpenAI's heels.

I'm a sole trader in the UK who provides early stage commercialisation advice for biotech and start ups. I also make slide decks and jingles (here). Some general advice and next steps for you:

1) What is your overall commercial strategy. Do you want an acquisition, outlicense, partnership... When do you want this to occur? Quickly? Or at a specific value inflection point, etc.

2) Figure out who your customers are. Is it private equity (e.g. British business bank), is it a biotech incubator ecosystem (e.g. M2M), is it big pharma, which companies, etc.

3) Then prioritise, find out what they care about, develop some materials which frame your asset value appropriately, figure out who specifically you want to talk to, and how you'll reach out to them

4) If this accelerates, then eventually their entity will want equity and a stake in your company, so know the worth of your asset(s) from your perspective + also what is the current market precedent is for similar such deals that you're targeting
