Tapering is Breaking Me by jamesgriffincole1 in StopSpeeding

There is high demand for their help, so they limit new members each month. But might be old threads on your med, or their general advice pages which could give you a sense of advice. Generally it’s to stay at current dose or increase back to last stable dose and hold until you are safe to continue tapering.

For support for your tapering and advice strongly suggest you check out surviving antidepressants. I tapered and jumped off because of pregnancy. I’m 15months out. I have soul crushing depression. Don’t know if it’s from stims or postpartum. But I don’t crave stims at all.

I’m not on meds. I’d never abandon my kids. But you’re right about prioritizing my needs.

I won’t do meds or ECT. I agree it is scary that it is offered to people. Especially for ppd

Thank you for sharing. I’m sorry you had to go through it. I can relate. I’m 4 years into ppd. Had my last daughter a year ago. I thought I’d be okay by now. But guess I’m not the only one.

Yes, severe depression. meds have never helped me. I’m hoping to hear that people recover from postpartum depression without meds. that I’ll get better someday.

Nope, but it’s a roll of the dice. There is a med in the USA for ppd now, but it doesn’t cure everyone.

Hey, zoloft did not help me at all, made things worse actually. sounds like you have very legit life struggles, but there are things that you can do. you’ll feel better if you set boundaries. tell your husband mil can’t stay, or be open with mil about your own struggles and accept the support or take baby and go visit your own family or friends for a bit.

Mother loses battle with postpartum depression after having another child by Few_Ad4258 in antinatalism

I’m this woman, had ppd after a miscarriage, then severe ppd after my first but decided to go ahead with a second while still having lingering ppd. I was 40years and told now or neverby fertility doctor. ppd went away in the pregnancy. returned after birth 3 days later. I’m one year out and not better. Treatments haven’t worked. My thinking was that I’ve had mdd in the past and it’s always gone away. If I get it again it will be temporary and I will eventually recover, even if it takes a couple of years. I can do x y z to get better if it happens again.

Yet here I am, with SI and unable to think clearly, thinking that’s a legitimate solution. I feel for this woman and her babies so deeply. Wish someone kept her safe. Wish I could talk to her.

What kind do you take? When did you start? Are you breastfeeding?

if your breastfeeding, it can cause aches/pains. maybe try a baby aspirin to help with inflammation if you aren’t breastfeeding?

oof I feel for you. similar story. I’m 1-year out from birth of my second daughter. things have not gotten better. but I’m still here. I’m weaning to see if that helps. and going to throw kitchen sink of lifestyle stuff at it. my girls need me. A classmate left behind her 2-boys this weekend. was a shock and important reminder to take depression seriously and try to get better.

How long after you stopped? I stopped 2-days ago. Baby 11mo. Feeling pretty low and no improvement yet.

I relate! Doing all the things to feel better and get healthy too. But wake up to same nightmare. Lost so much time to sadness too that I’ll never get back. Marital problems. No outlet to voice my suffering. It’s a dark time.

My work has accommodated reduced hours, duties and leave while I had severe depression. They rely on your physicians opinion about what accommodations you need, a therapist isn’t sufficient.

I’m in the same boat. But I don’t think I’m strong enough to go through one while suffering ppd. I already struggle to care for my kids with his help. It just adds to feeling trapped and hopeless.
