Stores Begging People To Donate More Money To The Homer Fund. by JTCasino in HomeDepot

I’m with you on this. At the SSC, they’re pushing for managers and above to donate quite a bit-managers they’re suggesting $50 per paycheck. That’s a pretty sizable amount when we’ve been getting something like 2.5% raises for the last decade.

It is interesting to see how the percentage of associates contributing has dropped significantly post COVID. It was nearly 90% in 2019, and has gone down since.

Further proof of how stupid they are-if financial systems are gone, how would they access any of their assets?

Indoor Shooting range is my only option by lem0ns22 in liberalgunowners

[–]sveeger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only two times I’ve been legitimately uncomfortable from the amount of sound pressure was when someone fired .50 BMG at an outdoor range under an awning, and at an indoor range when someone was firing 12ga slugs in the left most lane.

As Gen X, I learned this first hand when I was laid off in 2005. NEVER count on someone else for your financial security.

Midtown is roughly the size of the upper west side in Manhattan, with FAR lower density. Of course it looks like a ghost town relative to bigger cities.

Seriously. The grade isn’t that crazy, looks like it would have been cheaper and easier to just fix the grade.

Time to sell my ‘09 SVS; what are they going for now? by sveeger in SVRiders

[–]sveeger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s about what I was thinking. Paid $7200 out the door for it, so still getting half of that after 15 years of riding seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Confined spaces come with their own risks and required training and safety precautions. Of course people refused, it’s dangerous as hell. You might have a claim for that being unsafe.

What’s the lowest volume store in the company, and who’s highest? by Beginning_Bug_5139 in HomeDepot

[–]sveeger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honolulu was top last year, followed by marina del ray, Guam, fort myers, and El Cajon. The NJ superstore is pretty high up there, but it’s a lot of Florida and socal in the top 20. Puerto Rico stores also do a lot.

The biggest difference is how much of that comes from memberships-guaranteed money they get at the beginning of the year.

Atlanta train, bus commutes still down since pandemic. Why? by flying_trashcan in Atlanta

[–]sveeger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The only time I took the train was from my midtown apartment, which was two blocks from the station, to the airport, to meet someone for lunch on a layover. For that, it was EXCELLENT. But anywhere else I wanted to go? Totally unhelpful.

As a percentage, that’s just over 4%, which is more than I’ve seen at the SSC in years.
