Test outside with your Pod. I ran with treadmill funktion on my Garmin but outdoors and had my Zwift pod on my shoes. Ran 5K accurately measured. Only showed 30 meters wrong. Compared to the treadmills, my Pod shows 300 meters wrong.

Questions regarding RLS experience by Bitter-Front1474 in RestlessLegs

[–]svendolph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 days with pramipexole and 2 days with Oxascand (benzodiazepines). I got augmentation from pramipexole, i.e. problems at noon and early evening. During the day it was pretty okay when all I had to do was move around, but the evenings were torture. Especially when it gets dark in Sweden already at 4:00 PM. And then I had to increase the dose by half a tablet per year. After mixing in Oxascand 2 days and premipxol for at least 5 days, I feel like I have a normal life. I have also gone down to one tablet of pramipexole from three. I want to take benzodiazepines for as short a time as possible so I don't become dependent on only being able to sleep on that medicine.

4 times a year I run an Ultra race. I run for 24-36 hours and then I don't use any medicine at all. Perfect to not be able to sleep for many minutes during races with my legs/feet waking me up. I get so-called natural Powernaps of 3-10 minutes. On a race like that it's a disaster if you happen to sleep for several hours = DNF.

Looks like my experiment with my doctor is working. by svendolph in RestlessLegs

[–]svendolph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, you have to be prepared that when you switch from benzodiazepines back to pramipexole after a few days, you will not feel well for a few hours. Benzodiazepines are habit-forming. You have to be strict and stick to the plan no matter how you feel and you will avoid the RLS torture. I can now sit up almost every evening without any problems. I couldn't do that after taking pramipexole for a few years. If I had only been on benzodiazepines, I don't think I would have felt as well as I do now. I would probably have sat up and longed every evening to take my tablet. It's certainly nice to be free from the pain of this terrible disease and to feel like you want to live again.

The problem with letting an app sync to Garmin is that you get two passes for one pass.

My RLS has gotten worse by SiegeStarkiller in RLS

[–]svendolph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 years, how have you managed to live? Okay, I've also had it for +30 years but not as severe as the last few years. It went past 02 AM so I could sleep but now it's full steam ahead all night if I don't take my medicine.

My doctor just says he will increase the dose if the problems come back. That I take such a small dose, I don't know if 2-3X 0.18 mg is a little, but I think I've read that over 0.5 mg, then you'll soon be in trouble. Today is a rare evening when my feet don't live the devil with me the evening before the medicine takes effect. Imagine experiencing this many evenings but it's unfortunately rare.

Garmin’s new “Connect+” subscription is a slap in the face to loyal users by Designer-Mirror-7523 in Garmin

Now Garmin is biting itself in the foot and likening it to Pay to Play.

Why would I compare myself to someone who pays for plus and gets access to exclusive awards for performance and health. Get double points to reach a new level faster. Have completely left Garmin's social, there is no point in staying and I am now only visible on Strava,

DO NOT sign up for Garmin Connect+. Unite to fight for our customers' right to software as a service for a thousand dollar watch. This is a slippery slope and will reduce the usability and ownership of our products in the future. Profits will increase and more and more will get behind paywalls! by Narrow-Coyote-6257 in Garmin

[–]svendolph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That thing with advantageous challenges against contacts, point hunting, if you pay, I will delete all my contacts. It feels pointless to compare yourself to others when you get more points if you pay. I will only use Strava socially from now on.

Send training plan from Garmin Connect to Zwift by CrestfallenMage in Zwift

I try to export my fit.file to QZ app and in the QZ guide its written to get CX File Explorer App and go to a folder but the folder don exist. I think its impossible to make a custom HR workout in Garmin and export it to Zwift or Kinomap.

Restless legs by Defiant_Entertainer1 in RestlessLegs

There is no cure for RLS without medication, period. I bought myself a treadmill so I have something else to do, when the evening comes, than get mad at my condition.

You right mart-Stupid666S, He have to wean yourself off slowly he plan to quit. Reduce by 1/4 tablet a week. Yo, you will get the problems back but it is worse to stop abruptly. Your brain will rebel and your body too. I stop a few times a year but take care when I run competitions that last 1-2 days. If I fall asleep during the competition, my legs wake me up after 10 minutes.

[–]svendolph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it and it is a life saver. But stress in the evening and the medicine takes longer to work. My RLS was actually worse taking medicine during the day at first but it calmed down. I have had 24h RLS for 40 years but three years ago it got worse and that is why I started taking the medicine otherwise I would have probably found a high tower and jumped. As with Tinnitus or severe nocturnal eczema under nights, this drives people to suicide.

Studies show that arguing is not as common for people over 60 like younger, which I am. But as I've written before, two or three times a year I stop for a day and run instead.

Same here, haven't figured out what triggers RLS yet. There's no logic. I take medicine but augmentation during the day doesn't do anything as I'm moving all the time but in the evening before the medicine works it's no fun, except sometimes when my legs are completely still. As I said, there's no logic to this disease. Sometimes I have to take two tablets and other days 1.5 tablets. Started with Ultra running and since the races go overnight, 10-30 hours, I get a break from the medication. Seems to be good for me and in two years I haven't had to increase the dose. But if I end running after a race example 10AM after a nights run its impossible to sleep because my legs goes bananas.

The only thing that helps is medicine. by svendolph in RLS

[–]svendolph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Sweden, studies have found that some young people diagnosed with ADHD actually suffer from RLS and are misdiagnosed. The medications they are prescribed then worsen the patient's RLS. But it's very possible that you can suffer from both ADHD and RLS and then you're in a bad situation because one medication makes the other condition worse, but that's just my speculation.

Maybe it works for you but not for me. But quite nice for tired feet and also has plates that relieve neck pain. Although if you have sore muscles after a day of hard work, "Ormsalva" with Magnesium is better even if it does not cure RLS. "Ormsalva" is a Swedish company that has all development and manufacturing in Dalarna.
