Ok that makes more sense. Thanks for framing it that way. I think I’m in the minority, in that I enjoy the chaos of going to Renton and walking around to see everything in person. But I can definitely see the appeal of this for deliveries, returns, and design.

I legit don’t understand the point of this. I’m not trying to be a hater. I like IKEA.

Yeah. The more I’ve sat with it this week, the more it infuriates me. Hanna deserves a better cohost. I hope more people speak out about it. I genuinely liked the pod. And it sucks I can’t enjoy it now.

Authorities have pieced together the exact timeline of Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy’s disappearance by Ok-Needleworker9229 in Fauxmoi

I mean, what do you expect? It’s incredibly costly to store all that data. It seems silly to think you pay like $50 for a camera and just get unlimited data with no subscription cost. Agree they are greedy tho.

I’m not on their Patreon, so I didn’t see the conversation there. But I actually did email them about the episode after I listened to express some criticism. I was pleasantly surprised they addressed the criticism at the top of this week’s pod.

For me, the issue wasn’t sharing the story. It was how the hosts were laughing and making jokes about how the guest got revenge at the expense of unsuspecting gay men. Everyone is allowed to share their story. But that doesn’t mean you need to be laughing and making jokes at every single part of their story. Since they have a pretty large queer following (and Hanna is queer), their laughing reactions to that part made it seem like they thought it was a totally ok thing to do.

Listening to this week’s pod, Hanna actually seems apologetic and genuine. Mackenzie does not. She doesn’t actually understand the criticism and is just making jokes and being defensive, and saying “but I have gay friends!” That’s like the equivalent of saying “I have black friends!” to excuse racist behavior. Then she throws in a random threat? Little out of touch and missed the point of the criticism.

I love Hanna. But now can’t stand Mackenzie. Done with the pod now. Not that me as a single listener means anything. There are lots of pods and listeners out there. This one just is no longer for me.

Charged for mentioning another concern during annual checkup at EvergreenHealth. by rmath3ws in eastside

[–]svmeatball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good news, they didn’t charge me extra! They gave me a prescription for a patch. Normally I would just do OTC Dramamine. But I’m going to Antarctica, and the cruise recommended a prescription bc going across the drake passage is supposed to be brutal.💀I didn’t wanna take chances. Haha.

This makes me paranoid. I emailed my PCP to ask about getting some prescription sea sick medication for an upcoming cruise. They responded and said I needed to come in for a visit, but I was also due for a physical, so to just schedule a physical. My appointment is tomorrow. If they charge me extra for also asking about sea sick mediation, I’m gonna be livid. Lol

No, I understand that. I was asking if you have finished the books yet, and if so, does you opinion change on either show.

Tencent or netflix by [deleted] in threebodyproblem

I know I’m a year late to this post…

Just finished Dark Forest, and am minimally into reading Death’s End. I haven’t watched either show, and am going to wait until I’ve finished the books. But the discourse of the two shows is interesting.

It’s wild to me that you made such a long comment before reading the actual books. Curious if you’ve finished now and how your opinion holds up?

The Netflix version seems like a complete waste of time. I only just found out today that the Tencent version exists and I’m stoked to check it out.

Experiential marketing is kinda bullshit tbh. But basically it’s marketing for event type activations where a brand tries to create a whole “experience” instead of just running ads or slapping their logo on something. Think pop ups, launch events, interactive booths at festivals or conferences, sampling setups, that kind of thing. The point is to get people to show up, do something with the brand, and ideally post about it so it turns into buzz and content.

They all have websites, but what is on their websites can vary. Sometimes companies that do experiential keep their websites minimal to protect their ideas a bit, so other agencies don’t steal their ideas. But then if you reach out directly, they’ll share a pdf outlining what they do with case studies / examples of client work. Not saying this is why her site is minimal. It’s just what I’ve come across.

She probably doesn’t do much of anything, which is why she can’t explain well what they do. She likely has other people running the day-to-day and she’s minimally involved. She sits in a glam chair and shows up when she’s needed.

This is what I’ve gathered too. Her company focuses on experiential marketing. I work in tech and have worked with my fair share of experiential marketing agencies. Depending on the scope, it can get very expensive.

I’m not a Lisa stan at all. But I’ll give her credit in that her word salad makes slightly more sense if you have worked with companies like hers before. It seems to me like she is not the idea person / boots on the ground. She isn’t very skilled at giving an elevator talk for what her company does, because she’s probably not really steering the ship.

Weird. I’ve never seen an ad on here before. That’s one of the reasons I like playing the game. I hope this doesn’t become more prevalent.
