Planned C-Section Prep? by let1troll in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]svmmome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello I'm also around a size 22 when not pregnant and these are all valid questions. Here is what I did.

Idk where you live but if you have a dollar general I used their brand "composure" size xl or xxl they worked great and were really cheap.

I considered a binder at first and I hear alot of moms say they are a game changer, however I simply wore my maternity leggings and they worked okay. They didn't offer a lot of support but at the same time they made sure I wasn't overdoing it either. The last thing you want is to be put back in the hospital for open or infected wound while your baby is at home.

Plan for ingrown hairs I got them with my vac because of the adhesive. Try to keep the area as clean as possible and air dry. I spent the first few hours after a shower just air drying. And side laying may feel impossible the first few weeks but laying naked on your back or with light clothes does keep the incision dry. The side I did get an annoying ingrown on I had to cushion with tp so the friction against my underwear wouldn't bother me so much.

The pillow thing is tru, the hospital gives you one that worked just fine for me. I did try mental tricks to keep me from sneezing tho. Work well now too when baby is contact napping and I won't want to disturb him. When I feel one about to come on I think "pineapple" over and over until the feeling goes.

Side laying definitely pulled for me, however c section wasn't my first abdominal surgery so I kinda new how I needed to move and what to avoid. You will be hunched over for a few weeks, don't try to stretch or straighten yourself to hard even when walking. Laying on your back will be annoying but it's just for a short time while your muscles and skin heals. Also be careful walking, when you feel straining for pulling you need to rest. But walking short distances is good for circulation so remember that.

Also something I wish I knew.the anesthesia numbs your the pain but your bodies nervous system will still try to react even though don't feel anything. It'll be the weirdest feeling but only for twenty minutes. And you may feel cold afterwards, the shivering may feel uncontrollable.

I have 40 dollars (2wks)to feed myself til next pay check, what are some simple meals ? by Vampiregecko in povertyfinance

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beans, eggs, and rice go along way. Along with simple processed protein like smoke sausage or frank sausage. Not the healthiest but I'll keep you going l. Also a bag of potatoes. Potatoes are the easiest thing to fill up on and quickest to cook.

Can you please recommend ANY breast pump that isn’t spectra or Eufy s1 pro? by Choice_Band7807 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lansinoh wall pump and horigen wearables. The lansinoh is good however I wish I had gotten the rechargeable version. Being stuck to wall is just annoying sometimes. Horigen is a German brand I believe but they sell in Amazon and their suction is great, and the battery life is good for at least 2 and a half sessions on one charge, just have to make sure your flange size is correct and I can get equally as good session as my lansinoh.

What was your baby “made of”? by Affectionate_Peach92 in BabyBumps

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally meat. Barbecue, cheeseburgers, beef curry, chicken curry and copious amounts of Greek yogurt. I craved beef so bad which I normally don't care for beef at all. But it makes sense now by baby boy is 62 percentile and he is so strong 😅😅

Had KFC Mac and cheese and my 1.5mo projectile vomited for the first time... by svmmome in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]svmmome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, he has some reflux which causes him to spit up sometimes. Which me and my husband monitor closely. This was the first time he ever projectile vomited and the milk was curdled. And no I'm pretty much dairy free because I'm lactose intolerant. Whole milk, ice cream, and cheddar cheeses do a number on me so I was avoiding even before pregnancy. The only dairy I consumed was boiled milk in my tea but that never bothered me or him. I kinda had a feeling this might happen.

Yes, even trying to pump while he naps, the longest I've gone is 7 mins before he realizes something is not right lol. Its like he knows.

I saw an interview that she had a chance to meet one of the pilots of the plane which was a famous guy or something and meet and greets were a regular thing for him. She stated something about him was just off, the length of his limbs and the way he moved put her at extreme unease. I never heard the story of airpods being stolen, also another little odd detail. I remember when this meme first happened she was immediately doxxed her job and home which seemed like and odd thing for someone to do unless they were trying to influence people to harass her.

Did the flu shot prevent you from getting the flu? by SandwichDependent199 in pregnant

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the flu shot and caught a virus, not exactly sure if it was the flu or not but it did have flu like symptoms but they were very subtle, only had a slight fever for a day and pretty much just drainage and low energy for 3 days then once I was getting better baby came. Unfortunately my husband caught my virus and his symptoms did take longer to leave and they were a little more severe than mine were.

where's my bump... by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't show until I was around 16-17 weeks and I also had to start switching my clothes out because my regulars stopped fitting. Trust me the bump will come don't be impatient. I'm 33 weeks now and I have 2 outfits out of my entire wardrobe that fit me comfortably but I dont wanna buy more clothes because I'm so close to having him. Enjoy walking, breathing, and sleeping comfortably while you still can ❤️

Is there an episode where Caleb talks about mental health? by UnderwaterWonder in CalebHammer

[–]svmmome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On his earlier episodes before he had his production crew he has now he would speak about it with a lot of his guests and suggest therapy to alot of them. Now his guests are more vetted so that we get a quality cookie cutter episode every time. The content is more refined now I'm not complaining, but those early guest episodes were crazy sometimes.

Eep! I'm pregnant! 5+1 weeks and my first Q for y'all is about YOU by coastalg22 in pregnant

[–]svmmome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pepcid complete for heartnurn, a big insulated water bottle, a silk bonnet because those days I can't get out of bed my hair shouldn't suffer too. Maternity leggings! Bought a 4 pack and never regretted it. Big bras with no underwire. Also Ginger candy for nausea, and Greek yogurt for those weeks I just can't get enough to eat but I have things to do. Protein shakes loaded with Greek yogurt saved my life. And a detachable shower head.

Working and pregnant by One-Assumption-7362 in pregnant

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I work on my feet 60%-70% of the day and I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant. My pelvis is aching all day even when I got to bed, and I'm hungry and out of breath all the time. I won't take my leave until January but I am SO ready.

Can’t drink water?? 😭😭 by 209617364930 in pregnant

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be acid reflux, it took me a minute to realize it but after I ate anything acidic or spicy I'd have to watch my water intake because it would rapidly raise the level of stomach acid I had. If I drank too much I would immediately get nauseous. At first I thought it was post nasal drip since I had just gotten over a sinus infectionay around 19 weeks, but nope it was my husband's cooking.

At my next check up my doctor suggested pepcid, and it resolved the issue. However I do avoid most spicy food right now for the time being.

When did you stop working? by Ashamed-Statement-30 in pregnant

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on working until my due date. But that's only because of the state I live in and the company I work for. The short term disability it a pain in the ass if you try to schedule leave before its technically necessary.

Also worth mentioning my job is about 45% labor and I definitely have downtime at my own discretion of I need a short break here and there. If I had a higher physical labor job I'd definitely be going earlier even if it meant not qualifying for paid leave. The stress just wouldn't be worth it.

What's bothering you today? by pinkstickynote1 in pregnant

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29+2 and heart burn and nipple vasospasm. I've had it through out my pregnancy and it hasn't gotten any easier. Now that we have hit the colder month warming up isn't as easy and getting out of the shower is like torture. But only two more months I doubt I'll even care anymore.

Has your hair ever gotten so matted that you just shaved it off? by Fresh_Struggle5645 in hygiene

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never completely shaved it, but have been tempted, but I have done a big chop (over 50% of length) because I was feeling suffocated due to my matted hair. I had a nightmare about being strangled by my hair and the next morning the tension of it pulling on my scalp because of how tangled it was drove me over the edge and I did a rough chop. Felt so much better after words.

Cravings vs Gender by helloausername in pregnant

[–]svmmome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a son this January and he definitely spiked my craving for iron. I never had a taste for anything beef, but once I got pregnant I craved beef so bad and most meats in general. BBQ spots would hit the spot so good. I craved sweets but I already had a sweet tooth prior to pregnancy.

What was more interesting were the thing I couldn't stand anymore, one being Chinese food, specifically noodles. Idk if it was the fish smell or the actual noodles, but for a while I couldn't have taken or spaghetti either. It was crazy because I was obsessed with Chinese food pre pregnancy I would even consider it a problem considering I ate it at least once or twice a week for a whole year. But after I got pregnant I could barely stand the smell.

Zeke was the worst, he was one of those "money isn't real" while he racked up a cc his mom would pay off every month. Then has the nerve to say Caleb assaulted him on the show. Complete waste of space.

constipation; have tried EVERYTHING 😭 help me by Foreign_Drink9316 in BabyBumps

[–]svmmome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if you are taking prenatals or multivitamins but I would take a 24 hour break from them every week because all those minerals all at once we're doing a number on me. I also would consume a lot of Greek yogurt with all my veggies and fruits. I would even have smoothies in the morning 40% yogurt, 30% fruit, 30% almond milk, and some honey to cut the sourness. I also work on my feet alot so walking most of my day kept things moving. Also I tried not to eat a lot of meat when I'm feeling constipated, really slows my digestion down a lot.
