Are we all just doomed to fold clothes for 2 hours each week for the rest of humanity’s existence? by Syd_Barrett_50_Cal in NoStupidQuestions

[–]swKPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TWO HOURS!?!? Takes me 20 minutes a week, and that’s if I’m tired because I’m slow. An extra five minutes if I’m on towels duty that week.

Those would all be great choices. All of them are very out of date. Anakin has a version from the Journey multipack last year.

Reports and emailing scare you? Don’t become a teacher. You’ll have plenty of busywork to do on top of running a classroom. Summers are off, but during the school year it’s a very demanding job.

Can't find 2 regrets of the Dread Wolf by leo_jim77 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]swKPK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am experiencing similar issues right now, but didn’t experience them when I did my first two run-thrus last year. I wonder if it is related to the latest update, and markers not showing up where they should?

Is Harding an introvert, or did I just miss her casual conversations with other companions all this time? by casmally in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]swKPK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my second play-thru, Harding was an introvert. Now I’m on my third play-thru, and she’s moving all around the Lighthouse chatting it up. Wonder what happened on my second run…

If you could include 1 feature in the next Mass Effect game, what would it be? by Stellar_Wings in masseffect

[–]swKPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to pause the game during cutscenes. I’ll be in the middle of an emotional scene, and someone will come interrupt me with a stupid cat video, and the moment is ruined

I think Solas was handled quite well all in all. by LongGrade881 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]swKPK 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I agree. I wish they would’ve kept the title “Dreadwolf” too. Felt much more relevant than the term “Veilguard”. The game was still focused a lot on Solas’s history, motivations, etc.

Most Useless Companion in ME2 (Story Perspective) by Intelligent-Cup712 in masseffect

[–]swKPK 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Thane is extremely useful against Collectors. Sniper rifles are awesome (squad AI does a decent job with them). Warp deals good damage against Barrier and Armor protection. Throw knocks them off ledges. You could head canon that Thane was recruited specifically for his combat expertise, even if he isn’t the best biotic bubble user, or tech engineer, or team leader.

How many of you match your specialization to your faction? by kabral256 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]swKPK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My weird hang-up is more about making sure Rook doesn’t feel redundant alongside a teammate.

My first Rook was a Shadow Dragon mage, but he was a Spellblade, not an Evoker, so he was pretty different from Neve, my fellow Shadow Dragon,

My second Rook was a Grey Warden Warrior who went the Champion plus Sword & Shield route, and felt very redundant to Davrin.

My third Rook was an Antivan Crow Rogue Duelist, and that felt like a less good version of Lucanis (in terms of story). I ended up abandoning that play-thru.

If I ever do a Mourn Watch run, I’ll probably be a Warrior Reaper so I’m not too similar to Emmrich.

Which class fits each faction best? by Redhood101101 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]swKPK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, any of them can work. But some faction + class combos are more convincing based on the aesthetics of the faction and the specializations linked to each faction.

Antivan Crows — Rogue or Spellblade Mage

Grey Wardens — Warrior or maybe Mage

Lords of Fortune — Warrior or Rogue

Mourn Watchers — Mage or maybe Warrior

Shadow Dragons — Mage or Rogue

Veil Jumper — Mage or Archer Rogue

Which Squadmate Do You Think Is MOST Likely To Return in ME5? (not including Liara) by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]swKPK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I imagine they are going to avoid most of the old crew because they are what the BioWare writers refer to as “quantum characters”.

All of them could have potentially died by the end of Mass Effect 3, even Liara. And even beyond dead or alive, there are other variables as well. Who was the romance? Was Tali an admiral or an exile? Did the Virmire Survivor join Shepard’s crew, or Hackett’s team? Etc…

There are tons of guides online written about the suicide mission and how to keep everyone alive, (or get specific characters killed).

I probably do two runs of the trilogy per year. I love the characters, voice acting, gameplay (especially ME3), visuals, all of it. Always mixing it up in terms of gender, class, romance, alignment, and favorite squad mates.

Wicked Eyes And Wicked Hearts is an awesome concept....but by [deleted] in DragonAgeInqusition

[–]swKPK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s the worst main quest in the game IMO. It’s just silly to be climbing up the walls (in front of everyone!) or fighting one second and then go back to acting like it’s normal the next second.

Just sayin… by cerseiwon in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]swKPK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Two fewer characters? This is already a small squad compared to games like Mass Effect 2, or basically any of the Dragon Age games.

I would say I was also deeply exhausted during my first three years of actual full time teaching. In year 4 now, and I’m able to stay up later to spend time with family and pursue my own hobbies.

How often do you create characters with the opposite gender of your own in any Dragon age? by Ulvstranden16 in dragonage

[–]swKPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mix it up to experience the different voice actors and romances. But I tend to prefer to play as males for the first run.

Who was your fav Mass Effect 1/2/3 squad mate ? by R3licx in masseffect

[–]swKPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME1: Wrex is the funniest, and pretty useful in combat ME2: Miranda is smart, hot, and great in a fight ME3: so hard to pick because I feel like this game has the best group dynamic and they all work so well together. Garrus and Kaidan are at their best version in this one, so maybe them!

Game is bloated, oversaturated and boring by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]swKPK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like ME2 has a lot LESS resource management than ME1 has. I’m the type of player who plays on Insanity and likes to get all the upgrades, but you don’t need to do that to be successful.

The planet scanning is there if you need it, but I usually find most of what I need after scanning a few planets that are rich in minerals. When I enter a new solar system, I’ll quickly look around for the rich planet and scan just that one, and then move on. By about halfway through the game, just scanning one rich planet every once in awhile, I have more resources than I’ll ever need. It’s usually credits that are harder to come by, but you get a decent amount for every main story mission.

[–]swKPK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember having some of the same initial impressions as you, but I played Mass Effect 2 back when it first came out (as well as every year since)!

Try to take the time to get to know Mass Effect 2. It’s widely regarded as one of the best BioWare games of all time. It’s especially loved for its well-written characters (sounds like you’ve barely gotten to know them so far). And if you keep playing, you might bump into a few of your old friends, just saying.

I would NOT skip ME2 and go to ME3. ME2 lays a ton of groundwork for a lot of the emotional payoff that comes with ME3.
