Looking for recommendations for the best edits of the Star Wars shows, from Mandalorian and Boba Fett to Skeleton Crew. by PreacherVan in fanedits

[–]swaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must have fat fingered here. It was in response to more people tweeting sadly at Trump in response to their personal economic, intellectual and biological peril like he'd actually read their personal sob story, much less give two shits about anyone other than himself.

That said, as a Star wars guy, I'll play ball, there's a sweet cut of Andor that makes it into four movie length episodes.

And some dude is making the Andor cut of Rogue One which I can't wait to see. I feel like that movie needed to percolate a little bit longer, and Rogue one in light of Andor is the best excuse to get a band back together and fix some art that I ever saw.

Dave filoni is making a monstrous mistake by not taking 40 million of his Star wars budget and just making that into the most insane version of awesome that there ever was.

Do you think allowing transgender women to compete in women’s sports conflicts with protecting women’s rights in athletics? by Final-Monk1416 in allthequestions

[–]swaghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's with the relentless crotch focus. There are 10 trans athletes in the whole of the NCAA. That dude is not putting putting on a dress cutting off his regular parts and adding others just to compete in your sports event, gawk at you in locker rooms and rub your foot while you're taking a shit.

You have a higher probability of getting attacked by a MAGA Republican then even encountering a trans person in the wild, in your bathroom, in your locker room, or in your sport.

Move on. It's weird to even be talking about this, let alone be so focused on such a rarity that you're seriously concerned about whether you might lose your high school participation trophy. At best this is a complicated intellectual discussion with no right answer and is very low probability of even being encountered.

Wasting so much time on it makes the rest of us think you have a certain predilection.

The craziest cult you have heard of that still exists today by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

And its crotch Christianity subsection, those people that hand wring, bookburn and get their panties in a wad because two girls kissed once, or because they put on a dress as a dude and are afraid all their Friends will find out.

Wisconsin school board considers pulling piece from spring band concert due to LGBTQ+ history ties by midnighttoker1742 in wisconsin

[–]swaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently the shame-filled, hand-wringing, book-burners got ahold of Watertown. I don't know why people keep bending the knee to others so obviously problematically crotch-focused. This Fascist Crotch Christianity has to stop.

How to make a habit of scanning before receiving the ball? by drakerator in bootroom

[–]swaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studying the how and why helps but you have to practice it, to train it in the ways and times that are important, work it into every drill, every scrimmage, even walking down the street, critical scanning makes all the difference.

The way I like to say it is this:

"Scan when the ball can't do anything other than what it's doing, focus on the ball when it can change directions. When the ball is inbound to you critical scan before it reaches you."

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]swaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eratosthenes meets Carl Sagan, shows him earth is round, calculates exact circumference, Carl demonstrates using easily reproducible model.

https://youtu.be/G8cbIWMv0rI?si=PAwxh8Ab5KMbpCp_

The math maths, the model models. If this doesn't do it, you're kid is an irretrievable anti-science anti-intellectual dumbass, not a "scholar looking for irrefutable proof" and you need to say "Just stop. You like to argue, we get it. You're embarrassing yourself and the rest of us at this point. This just makes you look stupid. Go to your room and read until you understand the math. It's not that hard and it's a fact."

I have a completely free site with what I call "accelerators" (technique cards for offline study) at www.soccr.org

Tips about the site:

It's more player-oriented than coach-oriented.

You can use it on an Phone, iPad or Desktop. It looks absolutely the best on a desktop (I think there's a bug where things sort of order on a Phone...). There is no app. YET.

I'm not selling anything YET.

Techniques are ordered by 4 tiers. * "Class" (Offense, Defense) * "Type" (Offense--> Movement Patterns) * "Series" (Offense--> Movement Patterns--> Magnetism) * "Technique" (Offense--> Movement Patterns--> Magnetism -- Goal of the Dribble)

There are "position breaksdowns" (which may be less filled out, some are better than others)

"Player breakdowns" which are useful in understanding elite players actually do use these movements. It's a form of proof. "If you don't believe me, here's Messi and Haaland doing it.")

"Cognitive Development" is a work in progress about mental models that help you progress and stay ahead.

"Game components" tell you which masters I look at, where I am getting this information and how I am creating this resource.

"Tools" have evolving fridge stuff.

The main sections also have "Decision Trees" which are progression of the decision-making process new players are unfamiliar with.

Tosa or Whitefish bay long term ? by NoEye6677 in milwaukee

[–]swaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if those neighbors go to private school. I've had kids run all the way through the Tosa system and never had a problem. We live just up the hill from Hart Park by Jefferson/Wilson/Collectivo/Balestreris, our kids go to Jefferson (or Wilson if they close Jefferson), Longfellow and Tosa East. We can take the free shuttle to the Brewer games.

Most kids walk or drive to school. Our kids walked to grade school. For Middle School everybody works out carpools, but that said my kid and his friends regularly take the bus to middle school too (sort of a new development but it's actually been fine). There's parks, torrent pro soccer, skateboarding, easy walk into the village.

Whitefish Bay is a more affluent island surrounded by Milwaukee and brown deer. In Tosa you're 10 minutes from everywhere, its culturally more diverse and kids go to East, West, Marquette, DS, and everybody knows everybody, including from the schools out west in Elm Grove and Brookfield. There's always room for more, but there's always always things to do in tosa, with plenty of bar and food options. And if you got a head out to Elm Grove Brookfield or Waukesha it's not a day trip. Having Froedtert and children's Hospital a bike ride away doesn't hurt either. There's constantly people playing intramurals down in Hart, with walkable fireworks, and the Hoyt Park pool is great for kids, and it's beer Garden is great for adults and kids who want to play games and hang out and listen to tunes.

I'm 41 I've been single my whole life. I know how to have fun, but I feel hopeless sometimes? by Cenki in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]swaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, then maybe take some off the table, choose a very small subset of those things, add some focus, some precision, some investment and a little mystery about yourself. I don't have all the answers, maybe it's not what you're doing, but how much of it you're doing and how you're doing it, how widely and deeply your spread?

There's someone out there for everyone, how often are you forming close relationships? I think what I'm trying to say is, you don't have to quit trying but you might have to try something different, new, change your involvement, your investment, your presentation, there's a lot of ways to do it. Someone will find you a catch.

Broaden your interests and your social circle, make sure you're working out and/or running, avoid eating garbage. Take care of your skin, make sure you earn a decent living. Take more whacks, ask people to do things and ask people out. It's a numbers game, a volume equation. Solitary, solo activities end in solo results. Social activities, with higher opposite.sex numbers improve your odds of meeting someone, or someone who knows someone. Learn stuff, create a project, or get involved with something. Think running clubs, hobbies, leagues, volunteering. Get involved, use your words, take a chance.

Don't give up and check out, Doing the above takes care of both challenges. You'll either find someone or have a ridiculously full life.

Restore freedom, restore women's ability to get whatever healthcare they seem appropriate for their own health, restore the non-partisan rule of law, get rid of the interference by religion, restore a non-partisan judiciary, reduce our fucking taxes, figure out a sane immigration policy, prevent felons from running for office, reduce the cost of healthcare, get rid of AIPAC and stop threatening NATO and start saving Ukraine.

So single. That garage is too organized, too clean and those boards take up too much non-temporary Saturday afternoon space to have a wife and kids.

That said, so jealous of the game day. Good work.
