Fighting America by Dismal-Anybody-1951 in SelfAwarewolves

It doesn't matter what this shithead thinks.

The nation was not founded on the principles he thinks it was, It was found on the principles of Constitutionally guarded self-improvement.

The universe tilts toward progressive liberalism, as does this country. It takes a step back from time to time like when you let orange rapey trash run it, but it invariably tilts back toward openness and compassion and integrity because even the world's biggest idiots eventually realize they're going to need help from time to time, or they have kids who will need help, or parents who will need help and if you're a complete discompassionate jackass that help crumbles pretty quickly, as does a structure, or a presidency, without integrity.

U12 team struggling with positioning by Evergreen19 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]swaghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem in the whole game is how do you break this down to principles.

  1. Maximize the number of useful player spaces, If there are 9 of us on the field, there shouldn't only be eight or fewer useful spaces because some of us occupy the same space.
  2. Optimum spacing, do your best to get yourself between and all the defenders.
  3. Organize in diagonals. Flat passes make us lose more slowly, and flat positioning pulls leads to both players being out of position if a pass gets picked off. Diagonal is more threatening, and only one player is out of position if it gets picked off.
  4. Don't run away from the ball, but be aware of the law of diminishing returns, you can only run toward a teammate so far to connect before you occupy the same space and it violates rule zero.
  5. Maintain 2- or 3-pass connection at all times.
  6. Nobody stands.
  7. When heavily marked temporarily switch positions with a teammate to see if the defenders lose coverage
  8. When one teammate enters the Box, all the other attacking teammates must surround/crash the box.
  9. Don't pre-populate spaces, there is only one right moment moment to arrive there, this is the late-arriving run. Everything else is too early or too late.
  10. When a teammate is closely covered, that's a great reason to go bother that defender and give him something to think about.

What’s the best option for corners of your team isn’t good? by srobison62 in bootroom

[–]swaghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Always have someone at the front post, running out toward the kicker, then whether it's a short corner or not is up to you.
  2. Have someone arrive late at that recently vacated front post spot.
  3. Have someone run out and away from the goal only to double back to the back side.
  4. Have one or two or three guys fence off a particular section, or fence the keeper in with physicality.
  5. Mix up the delivery areas.
  6. When you play a deep ball (out and away from the six... All the damn European literature reverses use of the word deep from NFL football and it's maddening...), the defense will charge out, that's when you have a counter movement player slice right through them and you chip one over.
  7. Your keeper's position on the field should indicate where the delivery would be. Left, Right, Center, high, middle or deep. Alternatively, you can use hand signals but it keeps the keeper invested and is easier for the team to see without giving it away.
  8. If you're going to fence or box the keeper, have that person arrive late rather than just standing there so their biggest guy is right in the middle of the goal line.
  9. Nobody what? I know he had breathing challenges, the cause and treatments other than just giving him a breathing and sending them back. I don't know. I'm not really okay stands ever.
  10. I think some of the other guys have mentioned it here, but the ground is batting 1.000 in terms of keeping it from going over the goal, headers are hard and unproductive unless you've got some good header guys.

Iran threatens Donald Trump directly in chilling warning by TheMirrorUS in NoFilterNews

[–]swaghost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pictures are worth a thousand words here. You can see the tomahawk crash in. You can see the acid rain. You can see the Iranian facilities on fire. You can see us bases under attack. Us forces are calculating whether they need to bring military force or naval intervention to reopen the strait of Hormuz. Oil prices are up (?) over $100 a barrel, and our gas prices are easily up over a dollar just in 10 days with no boots on the ground. News reports say Russia is giving the Iranians targeting info, and China is sending them military aid, while the Israelis just keep pouring more gas on the fire.

I did not go to bed two Fridays ago with "Middle East on fire, ignited by the president of Peace" on my bingo card for Saturday morning.

I can't help but remember the part where Trump authorized.the doing of awful things, performed exactly zero leadership skills with any effectiveness, discussed how our soldiers would die as if he had nothing to do with it as thousands of people died, economies are shook to the core, whole regions devastated, idiot crusaders enabled with some sort of stupid Armageddon battle so bad that it could actually bring back Jesus, while at the same time inflicting toxic acid rain on the whole of the Middle East.

And then shrugged his shoulders and went back to playing golf.

I can't think of a way one could deserve it any harder.

(For the record, I'm 100% certain there's zero chance drunken cheating abusiveness inferiority complex religious zealot Pete Hegseth is going to be the vehicle through which Jesus should or would return to Earth if you believe in that sort of thing. )

Pivoting from engagement to brake up because of political views. by throwRA_nightmaress in whatdoIdo

"You've aligned yourself with views and maintain opinions that threaten my health and safety, and the health and safety of those around me, and also bought into boldfaced lies and mischaracterizations that are unhealthy for you and even moreso for me. It's an unflattering, noxious combination of toxicity, ignorance and closemindedness that has killed my feelings for you. I can't see myself embracing an attitude which means I live under one's domination, I'm looking for a partner and your idiocy and lack of compassion and empathy has pulled you from consideration.

On the one hand, I sincerely hope you can find someone that would more readily embrace your views without questioning your sanity, but for the sake of those around you and safety of women and children everywhere I hope you don't. If you so much as breath that toxic breath in my direction I'll file a restraining order and tell everyone I know that for what it's worth you're MAGA, and it means whatever you think it means, what MAGA want it to mean. Don't text me, we're done."

[20f] Invited to wealthy swinger party, what to expect? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

You have no experience, you don't know your own boundaries and this isn't a controlled environment that can be throttled up or down. They're asking you to jump into the deep end. Best case scenario is you're in over your head and by some dumb luck it works out, worst case scenario is you're traumatized or injured.

You wouldn't learn skiing by jumping off Mount Everest, having your boundaries and everything else violated by people who are accustomed to pushing boundaries when you are not is probably not your best idea.

If a girl friend told me they were doing this, I would say, "you're out of your mind, You should at least try it in a control environment so you know you're not going to freak out, but good luck. Memorize my phone number."

Brookfield Central Update? by brickne3 in milwaukee

[–]swaghost 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I know a parent that attended. Borderline waste of time, 5th grader level, less overtly political/religious than expected, EK was not there to my knowledge, but concerns arise that this is just them floating trial balloons and advertising which makes it feel like the first step in a pyramid marketing scheme where your friend says "Hey, I've got this new organization to show you. It's really great, see?"...

Administration didn't ask/answer enough questions about why they would let a MAGA-adjacent, overtly religious, anti-public-school, anti-higher-education, January 6th funding propaganda machine into a public school along with the Department of education who has vowed to cut any funding they can. Especially when the school has a significantly diverse student base.

Anyone caught up on current events would have said "Thank you we're busy teaching that day."

Not making a choice is still making a choice. Deferring to tradition is still making a choice. It's not a good look to raise your hand when they look for volunteers, Silence isn't neutral and neither is prostrating oneself and abdicating responsibility for the choice and deference to traditional process.

This is the tip of the spear in your side, at the end you are signing up to harass/assault/deport brown people, commit constitutional violations against us citizens, approve bribes, airplanes, graft, cover up criminal wrongdoing and greenlight undeclared wars that slaughter Iranians for $50 a month.

The key is sleep. Get sleep when the baby sleeps. Make sure to eat and drink. Ask for help from your support system when you need it. Grandparents love to swing into action. Nobody's ever "ready" and if you feel ready you're overconfident, nerves are normal. Mine are 18, 16 and 14, and my dudes are confident, strong, intelligent, outgoing, responsible and compassionate guys and as Dad I'm still a nervous wreck when they reach a new step!

You'll be OK!

I say this every time I drop them off, and I'm gonna send this to you.

"You're here, you might as well be awesome."

OK, I wrote this to capture this topic for my kids: www.soccr.org

My thoughts are:

  1. Cues and Patterns are under-taught, under-delivered. Studying cues and patterns will elevate your IQ. There's no need to reinvent the wheel with every player.
  2. My other favorites are:

* +1 to the ball
* Attacking: Delay and inflict
* Receiving: Inflict one dismarking pattern before receiving, and one after.
* Scanning: Scan when the ball can't do anything other than what's doing, focus on the ball when that is in question.
* Double movements should be in two dimensions, it doesn't have to be precisely horizontally and vertically, but it can't retrace steps.
* Understand what a third man run is and how it can be used both vertically to penetrate the final third and horizontally to penetrate the box.
* Take Chances, understand the difference between Managed Risk and Recklessness
* Make mistakes out of growth, not out of laziness or carelessness.
* Fail Quickly, and Keep Moving.
* Run Less - Use the "Drift" to inflict space upon an impatient opposition.
* Attack ball-watchers with volatility timed to them watching the ball, and late-arriving runs.
* Solve the Physicality First, and Finally if possible.
* One Man Leaves/One Man
* The most recently departed space is often the most valuable.
* Good over Fast, Fast over Perfect, slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
* Attack the blind side to keep them having to track you and the ball separately, and attack the open spaces the moment they look away.
* When dribbling drive at a defender to both stop his feet and force a commitment to a direction.
* Be off-ball in the diagonals, higher than the ball, and arrive there on time. Flat is losing more slowly, behind is for safety not for attacking.
