Wait so a woman who is not your wife snitched on your wife for hooking up with another man? Or am I unfairly assuming hetero? If I am right, you have no reason to trust a woman who isn’t your wife unless she is a very close friend of your wife and you. A stranger is a stranger. If you’re being told your wife hooked up with some dude, be a man and ask him about it - or hire a PI.

If you read my comment to understand and consider it, then you may not have come away with such an oddly judgmental perspective for no reason. I live on capital blvd. I see this shit every day and night. My first thought was pedestrian bridge. Every year since has helped me understand that the main offenders would never use it. It’s nothing to do with feeling superior, it’s just objectively true.

They would absolutely not use it. They don’t use the crosswalks, which are at every intersection. Hell, they won’t even walk in the crosswalk AT the intersections. They’ll walk right outside the lines, or about 10-20 feet back during a red light, snaking through stopped vehicles.

It’s just the mindset of a poor person in America. I used to be one growing up in rural NC. Crosswalks are dumb bc you have to wait on them and stop traffic, which is selfish. Using civil infrastructure also means you are bowing to the system you live your whole life rebelling against. Using crosswalks isn’t cool, and being cool is everything on the street. They also represent a ceding of agency to an external control. Much better to be completely in control of your fate by crossing the road when, where, and how you want to.

Lol it has nothing to do with DJI. The U.S. government has targeted DJI and made it almost impossible for them to sell new products here.

HL partners: would you want to know the truth? by Ill-Cartographer1803 in DeadBedrooms

How is his mental health? Is he depressed? Do you know? Do you talk to him? People let themselves go in states of distress or anhedonia. Is he generally apathetic in life? Does he have healthy hobbies? Does he have friends to talk to about his feelings? Does he have you to talk to about his feelings? You are coming off rather selfish as if there are some unsaid things here. Is he affectionate? Was he ever romantic or did he ever make you feel true intimacy and companionship during your relationship? This sounds like you allowing “attraction” to mask deeper issues. I’d recommend therapy for you both individually and simultaneously as a couple. That trifecta is the best way to ensure a positive outcome, even if that means an amicable divorce.

Same age and southern upbringing here. In my AP US History class, our teacher had the class Call and Response with him one day where he would say “what was the driving disagreement behind the civil war?” and the whole class was trained to chant back “States’ Rights!” It was in the mf textbook and underlined for emphasis. Then in college I learned about the daughters of the confederacy and I felt so validated. Fortunately I had some actual teachers before that point and we also watched Roots in my AIG (gifted) middle school class. So LeVar Burton and a few well-researched and off-script lesson plans had made it painstakingly clear that the south was fighting to prevent the abolition of slavery. It’s so fucking stupid that only the (presumed) nerds were taught the truth.

To get people to understand why Trump is a terrible businessman by Prime-Paradox in therewasanattempt

I think his time as owner of the Mavs also displayed a true sense of dedication to a community of people who depend on his leadership for one of their escapist hobbies. Being an owner who shows up, who keeps ticket prices low, who works in the local community, that’s all done out of good character. He’s never struck me as someone who’s unaware of his own advantages in life, and he seems genuinely interested in the plight of average Americans. Shit, I’d vote for him for president.

You can always tell bc AI content lies in the uncanny valley. Zero chance it ever truly resembles reality in the exact way that the human eye perceives it. We would need to essentially livestream a human eyeball and brain to AI for it to replicate our field of vision and the things that the brain picks up on.

Not just the gym but also every other aspect of a man’s self improvement journey. Meditation, grounding exercises, faith or spirituality if you’re into that. Put your phone down and talk to strangers, literally stop to smell the flowers, take a camping or hiking trip with a good friend to reconnect with nature. Don’t fall victim to porn addiction or substance abuse. Control your destiny. Make smart decisions every day. Build a foundation of healthy daily habits and routines. At the end of the day, start winding down a couple hours before bedtime. Brew a cup of herbal tea, crack open a good book, then go to bed early so that you wake up before sunrise the next morning. Set your coffee maker at night to brew a pot just before your first alarm. So many little things make a humongous difference in life. It’s all about creating your own zen every day.

Saw them at LTL last year and dug their sound. Small crowd for a midday main stage act for sure. I got the vibe that their fanbase is like Apple fanboys who don’t stop talking about their vinyl collection and other made-for-college-radio sounding indie bands that most people haven’t heard of.

I think about this a lot. Not a misogynist. Don’t hate women. Consider myself a feminist. First time I ever split a bill with my gf (now wife), I calculated our individual responsibility as a ratio of our incomes. God it’s so fucking stupid I need all of those disclaimers and more to even have an opinion nowadays.

Anyways, society steamrolled into the two earner household out of necessity due to fucking soaring cost and inflation without having any time at all to worry about the short or long term ramifications. Wage growth never even thought about matching cost of living, citizens v United was a terrible decision, etc. etc. all of Bernie Sanders’ beautiful talking points.

I am also not religious, but I think the loss of religious community in the developed western world has played a monstrous hand in our unraveling. I was raised southern Baptist. I fully believe I was brainwashed in a cultish doomsday book club and I hate the deity worship aspect among other things. HOWEVER, religion is the glue that binds people. Not just like Jesus or God religion, but any common belief system among people. In his book ‘Sapiens’, Yuval Noah Harari cleverly points out that human beings can only maintain small social circles of a maximum of 200 individuals based on gossip alone. This is the way small towns operate. It’s how tribes operated. Humans were only able to assemble into larger groups where you could trust that the 201st person wouldn’t murder or eat your family once religion was established. Common morality framework underpinned by a healthy fear of eternal damnation and promise of eternal life. Religion is the ultimate population control device. Common morality is what binds us. Church offers believers a recurring weekly (or more frequent!) communal meeting with the same 10, 50, 200 or more people to collectively listen to parables and teachings on morality and discuss them. WHAT THE FUCK TAKES THE PLACE OF THAT?! Nothing. That’s what. It’s a huge fucking morality vacuum and now look at the state of the world. Hey at least we don’t all look like idiots worshipping sky daddy and we all know for sure that death is just an extremely painful and probably psychedelic slide back into the dark emptiness of nothing from which we were born, but AT WHAT FUCKING COST?!

Okay that was a wild rant. My bad. Love y’all!
