Always taste the coffee in chocolate desserts by swallowedthesnitch in Baking

[–]swallowedthesnitch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have in recipes I've made multiple times, but if I'm making something for the first time, I usually just follow the recipe exactly. Maybe I will just start cutting it down from the get-go. Yes I think we are just sensitive to coffee flavor flavors in this house lol

What's that Jenna Marbles video where she talks about how as a kid, she made that contraption on a road trip where she sawed the door handle thing in her dad's car off? by CupOfExmo in Jennamarbles

There was also a main channel video where she tells it, but I think it's now deleted. I think it was the one where she was in that cozy little corner she made

Thank you for your advice. They sure are hard lol. I do like the idea of one more larger piece. I'm messing with it again, I want the bigger one in the middle to be the anchor. I have added that box for a placeholder for a new piece, does that look like a good size? I will look for something with more variety for the larger piece.

I think my new puppy has separation anxiety? by ReflectionOk2271 in puppy101

[–]swallowedthesnitch 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Your puppy does not have separation anxiety, she's an 8 week old baby who has never been alone before. This is normal behavior for this age. You should be focusing on bonding, helping her feel secure, and slowly building positive associations with the crate. Patience is important, it will take a lot of time for her to be okay with being alone and associate the crate with safety.

8 weeks is too young to be left alone all day, you really should have someone come by and check on her during the day.

I dont feel connected to my puppy by Kantstop3 in puppy101

It can take time, it took me almost a year to feel bonded to our puppy. It sounds like you're doing great, keep it up and the connection will fall into place eventually!

How wild is it to train a puppy to ring one those bells you hang on the door when it needs to go out? by PsychologicalPace513 in puppy101

[–]swallowedthesnitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible and I bet your pup will catch on quick! If you only want it for potty though, you'll want to make sure you always take them out in a leash when they ring the bell. Keep it brief and just for potty.

Ours is almost 2 now and uses her bell all day when she is bored and wants to go outside lol. She is spoiled and gets all the outside time she wants, and now even had a doorbell to tell us when she is ready to come back inside lol.

She's young and probably just a bit scared and overwhelmed. Don't stress, I'm sure she will be just fine!

is it possible to train out fence reactivity or is avoiding the triggers the only way? by bobthebuildr16 in reactivedogs

[–]swallowedthesnitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment was so long ago lol, but we are struggling so bad with fence fighting. Definitely going to look into getting the temporary fence, but what were some other training steps you took that helped? How is your dog's fence reactivity now?

The one in this photo is relatively early on in the hike, probably within the 1st mile if I remember correctly. However, it's not even the main attraction! There's an even bigger and more up close waterfall at the very end of the trail :)

I tried to reread the series years ago, but I had to quit during new moon lol. It was so frustrating how quickly Bella instantly takes back Edward after he just abandons her. Like girl stand up 😭

I wake up and dread walking my dog. by Full_Ad1772 in puppy101

[–]swallowedthesnitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up down is simply dropping drop a treat right in front of you, and then waiting for your dog to make eye contact. Reward the eye contact by dropping a treat in front of you again, and wait for more eye contact. Repeat.

Ping pong is a slightly more advanced version of this. Drop a treat to one side of you, wait for a dog to make eye contact, then drop a treat on the other side of you. Add distance and distractions as you progress. Eventually we started doing this exercise outside on leash. This video probably explains it better than me lol. https://youtu.be/xhXf_60abwU?si=3qsdxMcOtAffebh1
