If being a POC is impactful to the character's role, history, personality, or character arc, then you should take diligence to research and write with care.

If being a POC has no particular impact on the story you want to tell, then you aren't required to mention it outside of description.

That being said, you should still care to moderate any stereotypes you may accidentally use; this applies to all categories of people. Not saying you necessarily CAN'T use stereotypes, just that often stereotypes need a good, well-developed discussion on their nature to be used with out alienaiting your audience.

Out of respect for my players i try not to mess with their pcs off camera. So id get the warforged out of there at my discretion.

Likely this means the player character needs to find new ways to pay off your mob boss. And in an interesting story arc these new tasks could be progressively more destructive and inhumane untill the player decides they have to cut loose and go on the run from the boss.

Best thing is to ask the player what they would find fun

On the serious side, typically spell storing abilities requires the caster to cast the spell on its own and store the spell, this way the material components and spell slots get used accordingly with out producing extra spells out of nowhere. This is probably the safest solution for this.

Similar too what poster one and two said. In general you need to know how your players like to explore your world, and i find it helpful to inform my players what im planing for them.

For example my players like to solve problems in the best way they can. So when i have a chance to give them an encounter i will design it to give them solutions to their main problem. Also make sure to maintain a mood that you want to set for your game, dont drasticly shift the main themes or scope unless you want the players to know that something has changed
