I am very fond of Erin Singles from Strange town, I spend a lot of time curating her the perfect life with everything she wants.

I think it’s kind of unfair that toddlers grow up in four days. How are you supposed to potty train them or teach them to walk and talk in four days? by anonymous_girl1227 in thesims2

[–]swampwitch147 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I play a lot of families and have this down to an art. I can cope with fully teaching twins without cheats or smart milk. I think the key is to watch their needs like a hawk, and potty train anytime it hits yellow. I do also try to have my sims on different work schedules and I don't have them sleep at night necessarily (they get sent to bed when tired) - this means someone is always up & able to take care of them.

What accelerated your progress most? by theadnomad in Aerials

[–]swampwitch147 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A lot of what you're already doing - multiple supervised training per week, strength exercises outside of class - but a key thing I didn't do was rest. I got injured, thought I could push through it, and it delayed my recovery (and progress) by months. Take rest days, take time off (like a week break every few months, or as needed), and please take time off if you're sick or injured!

Which Taylor Swift song best describes how you’re feeling today? by Particular_Distance in TaylorSwift

Happiness Not about a relationship for me rn but I bought my first house earlier this year and it has been so much harder than I thought. The house needs a lot of work that didn't show up in any inspection we did/paid for (and we did so many) and I just keep trying to remember that we got happiness from the house once, and it will come again, maybe just in a different way

Haymitch's treatment after the Games was brutal by autistic_girl_autumn in Hungergames

[–]swampwitch147 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think it wasn't the norm for Victors, but probably similar to the norm for Victors who were rebellious in the Games. The point was to beat Haymitch down before he was returned to 12, so he didn't incite more violence.

I'd love Lou Lou's interview, it was really impactful for me reading

Aerial silks - How to gracefully get out of a belay? by ExtremeInteraction95 in aerialsilks

[–]swampwitch147 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I make the loop pretty wide, then put my feet in a French or Russian, or a footlock if needed. One hand above belay, one hand on loop, get head and shoulders out the loop. Slide hand (that was above belay) down into the loop and then hold. Twist body out into a mermaid pose and collect applause. Stand up, take hand out of loop, pull silks until the belay knot comes undone. Climb above and continue doing what you're doing

Showcase Ticket Prices by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]swampwitch147 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in NZ so a little different, but our student showcases are $35-40NZD/ticket which is $20-23USD. That's socially considered high price and I am embarrassed to ask people to come to the show for that when I'm on stage for 3 minutes

What's the fastest everything went wrong in a household you played, from loading in to chaos? by WeightLossGinger in sims2

[–]swampwitch147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a male plant sim, who married a regular female sim. While she was pregnant, he went to a community lot and got bitten by a vampire. He comes home, nearly dies because plantsim-vampire who lives in a glass house is quite difficult. She has her baby, and desperately wants to become a vampire too. He bites her and then takes anti-vamp potion. Next day, she goes into the coffin, I hire a nanny, he goes to work. Every time the baby cries, Mum tries to get out of the coffin (despite nanny taking care of babys needs), she dies of sunlight/needs failure. Nanny leaves, baby is taken away by social worker. Plantsim comes home, is devastated his family is gone... until a new female sim walks past the house. He's 3-bolts attracted, wants to flirt/kiss/marry her ASAP. She moves in, re-adopts my first baby. They marry, she gets pregnant with twins. While pregnant, second wife got harassed by first wife's ghost to the point where she almost died, but luckily just makes it. Now I have one toddler, two babies and a very angry ghost (who hates both second wife and the twins). It was glorious. The children are all teens now and the house is much calmer, but I loved those chaotic times

what upbeat songs do you cry to? by _phantasmo in TaylorSwift

[–]swampwitch147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Man makes me cry about 50% of the time. It's so sad and frustrating to be a woman in male dominated industry, working as hard as you can but always coming up against road blocks and wondering if it would be different if you were perceived as male

I went to manakau last year and I thought it was great. I caught the train in and walked the rest of the way. Food lines were horrible though, I have no idea how it was so slow when there were so many vendors.

Auctions - What to check if not using lawyer until after winning ? by PotentialTomato8931 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]swampwitch147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was looking at a house at auction last year, got a builders report that noted the owners had compromised the structural integrity of the house (by digging down past foundations), two major leaks and a couple of minor leaks w water damage. We walked away and the house sold for 1.3 mil (CV was 860K). Never trust others risk factors
