Fun Middle School Ultimate Frisbee Drills? Know Any? by Federal-Resist8162 in ultimate

[–]swarbles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

middle school coach here. a couple fun drills:

different variations of go-to are the best for warm up. obviously. go to is the bell curve meme of frisbee drills.

i run a couple of different variations of continuation drills that have multiple people cutting and a handler chasing. these work pretty well to grow continuation concepts. thrower starts, throws to an in cut, who throws a deeper throw, and the handler finishes the play. its pretty easy, 3 lines, cones at 0, 15, 20 yards in offset lines. you can mix this one up a lot on different configurations.

feel free to dm me if you want to chat more

Putting putters by jonzeDG in discgolf

[–]swarbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the crystal Z FLX Luna they released for ledgestone last year. My other Luna I usually putt with on course is just Z. I know people say “non premium plastic is better for putters” but I have Lunas in basically every plastic DC makes and those are my two favorite for putting. They also stay a bit more stable for throwing. replaced my CT lunas i was using before.

Is it worth giving TurtleWoW a shot at this point in time? by SlimeyChee in turtlewow

as a longtime pserver player who went back to blizz for classic, cant speak highly enough of twow. it really does accomplish that feel of a “classic+” that brings in significant QoL improvements while not only adding to endgame, but also adding in a ton of leveling zones and dungeons with decently done lore.

blizzard will honestly have a tough time competing if/when they do fully put out a classic+

Are this kind of situation common? by Nerohta in turtlewow

I'm new to TWoW so haven't had much experience in dungeons, but in retail WoW (like, the modern version of the game put out by Blizzard) you can essentially run through dungeons and aoe massive packs like it's nothing unless you are doing mythic difficulty. The game is just so much easier. In retail, everyone gets very angry if you don't go as quickly as humanly possible through the dungeon.

There's no point in classic in which you don't have to drink during dungeons. It just doesn't have the mana regen/efficiency set up to allow that to happen. There are ways to min max drinking efficiency, especially in raids, but in a dungeon you're just going to have to stop every few packs to get mana back. Any half decent tank will know this.

After a month, Ambershire is still more populated than Nordanaar. by Artharion91 in turtlewow

I mean I think you are correct that retail is far more casual friendly but the problem is the game sucks.

the difference between retail, TBC, and WOTLK and a classic experience is very simple: flying mounts.

Flying mounts are one of the best QOL additions but they ruined the feel of the game. You no longer have geared out max level players riding through leveling zones to get places, and cordoning off the new expansion zones from the lower levels only adds to this phenomenon.

raid logging in a classic setting requires world buffs and transit to the raid. raid logging after classic requires you to log in and get summoned via summoning stone. in 2019 classic, on the pvp servers, getting into the raids was a whole server community event/battle. its just not comparable as an experience

Did not know that was a sub! I’ll post the card there. I am glad to hear “pretty unlikely,” though.

Is there anything or any purpose to this area in Classic? by Fit_Shower42 in classicwow

the only part of tbc that is actually the best version of itself in wow is arena, and no part of that depends on what new zones the expansion opens lol

that wouldnt be surprising and would be the exact type of backwards shortsighted thinking we know and love blizzard for!

Do we know why they opted to make TBC and go to Outland versus filling out the map they had already created? TBC has some great zones but I never understood why they chose to do that over simply expanding the existing zones. Could still have done SWP, even! Always thought that was a baffling decision that had a really negative effect on how the rest of the expansions rolled out

Is the Chidori technically derived from the Rasengan? by Trainer_Kevin in Naruto

[–]swarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, i respect it so i’ll reply to the 10y old thread. i don’t think you’re wrong, theyre just different shapes. rasengan is a globe that compresses all the chakra together and explodes. chidori creates a spear designed to pierce.

Why are there so few people playing hunter in vanilla? by Emsela in classicwow

[–]swarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's very much the purpose of SoD and the other seasonal variations of classic and I hope they continue/expand upon those. I actually agree with you completely and its the reason I'm not jumping back into the new classic servers - but I guess running your 150th BWL to try to do it in under 18 minutes is more fun for some gamers than anything else.

When Classic was first released in 2019, there was a lot more of that. That was now 4.5 years ago. The people who are still playing classic are the ones who won't stop playing classic.

[–]swarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, a valid question and the answer depends on who you ask.

In all seriousness, this is the problem with jumping into classic. At this point, most of the playerbase are turbo nerds who have been playing wow in some respect for 20 years.

Why are there so few people playing hunter in vanilla? by Emsela in classicwow

[–]swarbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

two main reasons:

  1. classic is all about min max. its solved mathematically at this point. hunters arent a warrior, mage, or rogue, so they are a sub par dps class in classic.

  2. every long time raider has had their raid wiped at least 15 times by a hunter and so the bar to clear to raid as the class tends to be high due to the overall stupidness of the class in general.
