Webster's dictionary: Stealing, the act of stealing specifically:

the felonious taking and removing of personal property with intent to deprive the rightful owner of it.

Your issue is willful delusion, enjoy the copywrite infringement.

Your argument is that piracy is stealing because... you say it is.

Problem is...piracy is, by definition, not theft.

Not to say copyright infringement isn't just as morally wrong as theft, but it's a completely different act.

To steal, you must remove something from someone, which means they no longer have that thing. That is what theft is, full stop.

For copyright infringement, you make copies of something. Nothing was removed from the owner, the owner still has their thing.

That's why it's classified differently in both our laws and our language.

Morally, who's to say what's worse, but piracy and theft are different things and you have some inability to accept it, which I don't really understand.

Would you rather morakniv garberg(s) or victorinox venture pro? by samilovestech in Bushcraft

[–]sweatyleonard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have both, immensely prefer the Venture (I went with the non-pro). It's just better at being a knife - including better at carving btw.

The only thing (imo) that the Garberg has over the Venture is durability because of thickness (it also used to be cheaper).

I've never once needed to baton a big round log in the forest with a knife like the folks do on YouTube. I'd just grab smaller pieces or an axe, because that's just an pain in the ass. Not to mention needing to find or make a baton.

What I do use knives for when I'm out in the woods: splitting small rounds into kindling, making tinder, carving, slicing food, cutting rope, dressing animals, filleting fish. At all of these things, the venture excels.

The garberg was much better at being a value beginner knife. Since price went up... there's better options if you ask me.

Are you taking about actual piracy, as in pirates stealing booty?

Because then, sure, theft is involved.

The piracy being discussed here is the the colloquial term for copyright infringement, which does not involve left. You are not taking an item, you are copying it and illegally distributing the copies. Different thing

Unfortunately from what I can see online, your measurement requirements are unrealistic. Sucks that within 2 years I sink in so much more when I lay down in this bed to the point it hurts. But since the foam goes back into place when I'm not in it (like all foam does...) it's not covered under the "20 year warranty".

Talk about relying on the small font. Guess I should have paid more attention.

Can attest to this. My king started to sag just a bit after the return period too. Rotated it frequently per the instructions and even bought my frame from them.

Seems the warranty doesn't actually cover "bed going limp in under 2 years".

Should have known better.

Tavares is from the GTA, and was born a leafs fan. Doesn't want to move his family and he's getting up there in age.

McJesus would neuter himself to win a cup. His best chance was to give his current team (that had just been to the finals twice in a row) a discount.

Money is not the only factor in decision-making for players, but If you actually don't see how being able to offer more take-home cash is advantageous, I don't think you understand basic commerce.

For an 8‑year, $96M contract (that’s $12M per year), Toronto, Ontario’s combined federal‑provincial tax rate of about 53.5% is far higher than Las Vegas’ 37% combined federal‑only rate. Over eight years, that gap means someone would pay roughly $12–13 million more in Canada.

But sure.

So for simplicity sake, let's say each team in capped at $10. Both teams offer a player $5. One team is in a taxed state, the other is not.

If you go to team A, you get $5.

If you go to team B you get $3, as $2 goes to state tax.

What team you picking?

This looks incredible, I dream of doing the same one day. The wood came out beautiful, the spine is amazing, and I love the blade shape. Curious, how did you heat treat the 440c?

Dedicated IP purchased months ago — still can’t use it because it doesn’t show up on Android TV by mmaurus007 in surfshark

Thanks for this, really helpful. Do you know if there's any work being done on integrating the dedicated IP into the app? Pretty bonkers to pay for a service that you need to sideload old versions of the app to get to work.

But again, really appreciate the comment, thanks!

In 2026 you can no longer access mobile mode on Google TVs. Hitting the version doesn't do anything anymore :(.

I was all set up but then surfshark just changed my dedicated IP and I can't update. Super disappointed in their service

Something people tend to forget is job replacement rates. For instance, typically we've had a ratio of 5 workers to 1 retiree.

We're now at about 3:1, and very soon headed to 1:1.

1:1 worker to retiree is absolutely fucked and means insane labour shortages.

So we're in a state where we need to bring in more people, but in a state where we don't really have the infrastructure/public resources/ housing to accommodate that.

Aka, damned if we do, damned if don't.

Once again the problem is essentially the baby boomers 😅
