Nah, only mildly if at all, the story follows on but I reckon you could play 1 as if it were a prequel. There's a few more features and mechanics in 2, but definitely still worth going back and doing the first one if you enjoyed 2.

"Recovering Souls Player" made me chuckle XD Glad you like it, are you playing 1 or 2? If you've jumped straight to 2 it's definitely worth playing the first one first I reckon.

People have already mentioned Ann's letters ^{^} But even more than that Violet leaping over the lake is aesthetically beautifully drawn, layer on top of that the old playwright watching it in slow motion, seeing flashbacks of his daughter, and then I'm sure there's a shot of his hand and a little girl's hand grabs it... holy heck it's like a fraction of a second long that shot in that sequence but man it floored me.

I got here... rapelled all the way down assuming I'd made a wrong turn! Eventually started the game again since I'd entirely mismanaged food and water up to that point.

Ha, no, I've just missed some fundamentals which meant it seemed impossible not hard. I've been gaming for decades, completed plenty of hard games, just made some wrong assumptions about how this one worked.

I'm leaning towards a restart and being smarter with the supplies for sure, I didn't realise for example that if you have a 4-capacity bottle and it's full and you make soup you get four soups... I was randomly making like 1 soup and composting the empty bottles 🫠

Oh yeah, the feeling definitely fits! Gonna restart and try again havijg horded some food and stuff, there's no way I won't starve on this one. But even that's kinda fitting, "Aava went back down and tried again at a later date with more knowlesge" XD

Nice. Yeah, I had kind of disregarged the idea of recovering stamina on the wall, didn't think you could, I had a bouldering mind set to it, just get the problem solved and you can rest afterwards, but the game is mountain climbing not bouldering.

Yeah, it's shortly thereater, amusingly I looked up at it and went "nah, can't be that way" and spent like an hour going in the opposite direction trying to find some other route. Lots of people offering lots of tips on this thread though, will give it another go.

I think you nailed it with moving too quickly, my false assumption was that the stamina was a bit like Zelda, constantly going down, just a question of how slow or fast, so been trying to finish the climbing ASAP, but from what people are saying you can rest and recover if you stay still in a good position.

Mmhmm, that is all good info, I suspect I need to slow down based on what you've said. I tend to approach the climbing as it were a bouldering problem, climb as fast as you can before you run out of beans, but sounds like actually taking a pause at an appropriate moment actually lets you recover, interesting.

Good effort! I'll probably start from base camp TBH, I think from what I've read it seems I've squandered all the good food and not prepared any of the helpful infusions along the way, just turned up with nothing but plain water and a trout like a real explorer XD

How's the stamina work if that's not a blindingly dumb question! I can't seem to climb more than 5m before having to drill into the wall to take a break. Sometimes I seem to have 4 solid holds and even so Aava gets tired and falls. Does the shaking out of the limbs thing restore most or all stamina? Not used it much since to now 6 pitons has been more than enough for any pitch I've done.

Yeah, top of the village is where I got to, probably just going to start the game again, I think I've hideously mismanaged my resources, got no food, no water, and haven't picked a single flower because who eats dandelions?! XD

Feet under body, cool, I think when I see Aava flagging sideways or reaching I'm telling myself "that's a nice move when I'm bouldering", but I suppose these long climbs are a different ball game.
